What's up with Cook? I thought he'd be one of the major beneficiaries of the rule changes but he looks pedestrian. Maybe the fact that he was such a late bloomer is catching up with him.

I was thinking the same but I’m now thinking that these new rules aren’t exactly the game changing revolution many thought.

I don’t recall many tackle count restarts this match. And few, if any Offside penalties.

To hazard a guess, I’d suggest the defence is being given too much leeway in this modern version.. ref too busy trying to do things on his own, keeping the whistle in his pocket.
