I agree with the point you're making but you're also making it about the team that bought the best halfback and best fullback in the game to win them two competitions back to back.

Cronk signed with the roosters for the same amount of money Ben Hunt signed with the dragons or milford is currently on at the bronx. Most teams would have a player on about a million a year. The roosters happen to spend that million on the best available halfback while some teams have that money tied up in a bench hooker.

Now Cronk signed with the roosters to chase premierships but being a successful team attracts players who want to do that. The roosters very rarely make a dud signing and have ludicrous amounts of salary cap tied up.
