Arthur showing once again he has NFI about coaching and building a season.

Why on earth wouldn't you go for 4th? Sure, it relies on cowboys beating manly but this game is first and if they win they will be 4th come Saturday morning.

Additionally, they finally found some form last week after 6 weeks of stinking it up, why wouldn't you want to continue that momentum? Most teams can keep peak form for 4-6 weeks so last week was perfect timing really.

This will spectacularly backfire in week 1 of the finals.

Because having our best team play just about every game of the year has worked so well in our premiership years recently....

I don't necessarily think it's right or wrong but BA flagged this weeks ago. Sadly the team fell in a shitheap otherwise this would have happened against the Cows I'd say.

Bellamy’s team is hopelessly out of form after getting smashed last week by one of the also rans but he is resting people too

Panthers will win the minor premiership than lose to manly week 1 and go out in. Straight sets

Players on the vids today mentioned that Ivan wants to sort out some combinations before the finals.

This is partly it, and also, if they win their qualifying final they will get a week off anyway. Resting a bunch of players now and then potentially having another week off in a fortnight will mean the boys will have very little game time come the Preliminary Final. The goal is to win the Qualifying Final and earn the rest then. This is what they can control.

The minor premiership isn't even a factor. They've got no control on what happens in the Melbourne/Cronulla match.

In contrast, this is Parra's only opportunity for a rest. They'll need to win four sudden death matches to take out the premiership.
