The fact the punch was relatively soft is neither here nor there. Punching a bloke in a defenceless position like that should be a straight send off.
Not only that, it was premeditated as forecast by Robinson this morning.

Same here. I rated the chooks much higher than Souths before the game but they look totally outclassed. Keary has barely been spotted, but it's not surprising when their down 18-0.

Roosters have played Manly and BJ Leilua to be fair. Not exactly heavyweights.

What’s your criteria then?

He straight up punched a guy, on the ground, in the back of the head.

Crap punch, but that doesn’t mean a thing.

If that’s not a send off you might as well get rid of the rule.

I agree with the thinking, but not quite a send off for mine. If it was more forceful, definitely.

Every week you see players hit each other on the back or front of the head with an open palm that has far more force and intent than that "punch" without so much as a penalty.

He threw a "punch" and had to be binned. It was stupid, a dog act, but not a send off.
I thought it had intent but no force.

What’s the line though? What gets you sent off if it’s not striking a player in a prone position?

Well not a great half.

Fifita dumb but seriously bigger taps in most tackles.

Arrow still living up to his name as one of the biggest cats in the comp.

Klein sucked in and hammering us with restarts and penalties

I hope we wrap up Jaydn Su'A soon. He is an absolute weapon. His timing in defence is outstanding.

I get that it didn’t do damage, but that’s the reality of most people who throw punches and haven’t trained, especially from awkward angles.

I guess my point is that it’s the action that should be punished, not the outcome.

Like I said, happens every week with far more force and intent in the back and front of the head to players in prone positions. If his fist wasn't closed nobody blinks, it was barely a tap.

Tbf, seeing a replay in real time, that punch happens every game, the only difference is it's almost always a palm pushing the head down, not a closed fist. The fact it was more like a push with a fist makes a sin bin sufficient imo.
