Thanks mate, was going to make this thread today.

What an exciting time of the year as we begin to build up to 2021. I always love a new Season Draw release, it's so exciting!! The full Draw is released tomorrow but some things have already been revealed. Exciting times!!

Origin's mid-year return locked in: V'landys: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/11/25/vlandys-origin-back-to-mid-year-locked-in/

Back to the bush - NRL announces regional venues for 2021 Draw: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/11/25/back-to-the-bush-nrl-announces-regional-venues-for-2021-draw/

Rabbitohs going Country to Coast in 2021: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2020/11/25/rabbitohs-going-country-to-coast-in-2021/

2021 NRL Draw leaked - Origin call made, country towns cash in as Round 1 revealed: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...y/news-story/3e369b1360102c02664896944dca5acf

So cool to see we'll be opening the new Season, that's really exciting! We haven't done that in a while but I always love playing in a Season opener, just has a grand feeling to it. Tough way to start no doubt though. Against the defending Premiers (who haven't lost Round 1 in like 15 years), at a ground we have never won at. Tough start but we have a squad capable of getting the job done. It'll be an absolute blockbuster!

Looking forward to the full Draw release tomorrow!

These suits at the NRL got no idea.
First that dick Greenberg relegating the biggest and oldest rivalry in the NRL to an after thought?
He gets sacked, and then some new-age smart arse comes up with some non-existent rivalry to kick off the season?.
No wonder this game struggles to become a national game with morons running the draw.
Game 1 should always be Rabbitohs vs Rorters.
And the added incentive of Arrow hugging Tedesco, Sualli being traitor, and Latrell finally getting to go up against the ex - what more do you need than that?

I'm expecting fireworks

While I somewhat agree, I think Storm vs Souths to open the Season is quite fine. It'll be an absolute blockbuster!

South Sydney Rabbitohs
Here is all you need to know about the South Sydney Rabbitohs' 2021 Telstra Premiership draw.
Teams they play twice
Broncos, Bulldogs, Dragons, Eels, Panthers, Roosters, Storm, Wests Tigers, Titans
Teams they play once
Cowboys, Knights, Raiders, Sea Eagles, Sharks, Warriors
Day-by-day breakdown
Thursday - 5, Friday - 7, Saturday - 9, Sunday - 3
Turnarounds
5 days – 2, 6 days – 8, 7+ days – 13
Kick-off
A testing opening month awaits. They'll head to Melbourne to meet the Storm in round one before another away clash against Manly, who were dangerous when at full-strength in 2020. Then Souths will lock horns with arch-rivals the Roosters at home before facing Canterbury in what seems, on paper, their easiest early match-up.

Toughest stretch
Rounds 8-14 loom as a big challenge with successive matches against six of the teams from the 2020 top eight. First up are preliminary finalists Canberra, then premiers Melbourne followed by Cronulla.
Minor premiers Penrith and third-placed Parramatta are next before a bye leading into a clash with Newcastle where Souths will likely have players backing up from State of Origin I.

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS - 13th

Games played against -

Top eight: 11

Top four: 8

Bottom eight: 13

Bottom four: 6

Who they play twice: Panthers, Eels, Storm, Roosters, Broncos, Titans, Bulldogs, Tigers, Dragons

A brutal reality for Souths is the fact they face every single team from the top four twice. It is offset by the fact they do have 13 games against bottom-eight teams (second-most). Rounds eight to 12 will have a big say on their season with a tough period seeing them face the Raiders, Storm, Sharks, Panthers and Eels.

Not the easiest Draw but I think we should all be happy. Personally, I don't really buy into the 'their Draw is really tough' talk (not that ours is the hardest in 2021 anyway). To be the best, you have to beat the best so to play all the top four teams from last year twice is a good thing if you want to win a Premiership. It's also kind of offset by the fact we have 13 games against bottom eight teams from last year. However, it's also hard to judge since just because a team was good in 2020, doesn't mean they will be in 2021, us included.

In terms of scheduling, I think it''s one of the best Draws I can remember. Five Thursday games, seven on Fridays, a whopping nine on Saturdays and three Sunday games. I think that's great to be honest! We also only have two five day turnarounds which is further good news. The only thing I'm really disappointed about is there's no games in NZ this year.

Over all, we should be happy. I'm just so excited to have a Draw out! We can now start to plan, pick our dates and look forward to 2021 even more!

Fox rated us with the 13th easiest draw, but if you take out the Broncos and Bulldogs, the two worst teams, where whoever they play is gonna be a team that finished better than them, we basically have the 2nd hardest draw in the comp.

At the end of the day, the difficulty of the draw matters for little if a team is good enough. It's not like in Superleague where there is a gulf in quality between the top 4-6 teams and the rest. Everyone in the NRL has a tough draw and the best come out successful at the end of the season.

Our first 9 games to start the season aren’t that easy but it’ll be a good challenge for us.

Our first 9 matches are:

Storm (A)
Manly (A)
Rorters (H)
Dogs (A)
Shoncos (H)
Tigers (H)
Titans (A)
Raiders (A)
Storm (H)

Would be great if we could win 6 of those 9 but no game is easy.

6th hardest as per that article - Knights the easiest and Bronco's the hardest - look at the draw toughness scores.

NRL should add 2 new teams (non sydney) and have a 18 team comp - 2 groups of 9 - Sydney and non Sydney - play teams in your group twice and the other group once - 25 games -either have top 4 from each group finals series or top 5 in each group and the winners of each group play off for the overall champion i.e like the NFL / MLB

2nd Brisbane team and another team ether based on the Central coast or Perth
