A one year deal suggests to me that Moga will be earning very little. Potentially a very good signing who may start and centre or second row come round 1.
If that's the case, we are in massive trouble.

A broken down Humpty Dumpty that all the King's horses and men have to keep putting back together again gets a starting spot for Rnd 1 means we have a better chance winning the wooden spoon than that heavy gold trophy

Yes, he's been injury prone in the past but that doesn't mean that trend will continue. If it doesn't, we've made a pretty decent signing.

The one year deal is a good move by the club too. If he does turn out to be a bit of a dud signing, then we can let him go and it'd be no real loss. However, if he proves to be a good signing and is happy here, then we can extend him further. I like this move from Souths.

If Souths took that attitude with every player that came into the first grade squad, the current club captain never would've gotten a game.

I’m trying to think positively mate rather than negatively. Moga could be very good value for money.

He carries the ball really up strong in his hit ups.

Sometimes his defence and discipline are issues though and he can get a bit lazy.

We saw with Brenko Lee at Melbourne this season what good defensive structure and undertanding can do for a players defence.
Defensive issues in the backline are just as much a coaching issue as they are a player ability issue.

Absolutely no comparison.

How many reconstructive knee surgeries has Moga had? 4?

How many has Adam had? 0?

How many times has Moga be ruled out for the season? And Adam?

Newcastle were very excited to get Moga last season. How come they didn't resign him?

I reckon you'll find Reynolds missed a couple of seasons as a junior because of knee injuries.
Moga has missed one season since 2016. His first season with Newcastle in 2018.
It's a cheap one year deal for a player who has shown an ability to perform at NRL level. Sure, his injury history isn't ideal but that is why he is coming to the club at the price he is.
Who else is on the market at near minimum salary with Moga's ability? No one.

"Defensive issues in the backline' ha ha jees you guys make me laugh.
I told you at the beginning of this year that 'playing in the centre's' was the hardest position to play in' and that you should cut Gagai some slack.
You and several other's on this forum have run Gagai down all year and yet when the discussion turns to fullback, you sing a very different tune.
Cory Allen can not make a front on or a side on defensive tackles to save his life (or Souths' try line) yet you can't resign him quick enough. When it comes time to tackle from behind Allen can't because he's that f**kin slow he can't catch anybody.
Come time to talk about Gagai, who did not put in a bad f**king three minutes on a rugby league football field all season, you guys talk about cutting his contract by an hundred thousand cos he's 'gettin old'.

You guys do me you really do. You can't tell shit from clay.

In all honesty centre is a hard defensive position. But if we had Latrell & Jimmy the Campbell in the centres I think we would be a lot better off than Gagai.

I wouldn’t cut his contract short because he has played average all year, but for how much it has been speculated he is getting he should be winning us games

Gagai gets 780k a year to play 3 good games for the Maroons

Brah, what's your go? Are you confusing me for someone else? The only real differences in opinion that we have is where Gagai is most valuable to the team (and which position is more important) and importance of a fullback's defensive ability.

Gagai's great. An elite wing who i would prefer to keep over signing JAC. I do feel that $700k (if true) is borderline overs for any outside back but that applies to all wing/centres.

I've said nothing about re-signing Allan. Unless he breaks into the starting side himself and performs, there is no reason to re-sign him. He is currently what he is, a decent reserve on low salary that has only performed at FB - a position that is already filled when Latrell is fit. He's too slow for the wing. His next contract will be a decent bump and if he is still a reserve, i hope that isn't with Souths.

If my aunty had balls she'd be my uncle - who is Jimmy the Campbell, do you mean Campbell Graham or Jimmy the Jet?
I can't think of any centre much better than Gagai.

I heard somewhere "forwards win games", could be wrong nah - I 'm never wrong.

Gagai has been one of Souths best players, whether wing (which you insist upon) or as centre.

As for Allen, I was challenging all those who have sung his praise, your may or may not be collateral damage. Can't remember. Don't really care. Hope Allen is goooone.

Do you mean 'brah' or 'bah'?

I think Moga is a good buy, because sorry I don’t rate braiden burns at all, I use to get nervous if anyone ran his way, and he had to defend, or in attack he would knock it on, or just be out of luck, the effort is there but never really come throw with anything, his timing would be out in attack and defence ... I rate masters over burns any day of the week

Burns before his hamstring problem actually played good and his defence was good, but after the injurys he came back for a brief period a changed player, his confidence his worrying about the hamstring , i dont think he was fully fit, probably contributed to him not playing properly, then in one game he caught an intercept, which granny could of won the race and was run down so easy, so his speed was gone. I say he suffers a reoccurence of that hamstring injury and he is gone, and not worth keeping, its unfortunate, im even wary of mitchels hamstring not causing long term problems.
