While my mind was wondering at work today i had a thought - what about Lachlan Lewis as a ball-playing edge forward? I don't believe there'll be much of a demand for him as a half and at 190cm, he's tall enough to be able to put on extra size required and is capable of going head to head with bigger forwards as we saw a few years ago when he took on and held his own against Sam.

Not likely to happen i admit but the thought intrigues me.
But he would tackle Cody!!! ;)

How Walker plans to help Milford revive career at Souths: https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/07/29/how-walker-plans-to-help-milford-revive-career-at-souths/

‘It’s a great signing’ - Walker backs Milford bid as Bunnies move on $1m Bronco: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...k/news-story/1fb6992f6f877b9cadbceaeace23e47f

Gotta admit, I don't really like hearing this from Cody. Cody is the one we need being free to 'play his own game.' If Milford coming in disrupts that and Cody has to go to halfback and organise the team at first reciever, then I don't like that at all. Still, we'll see what happens.

Anyway, in other news,

I've been thinking about it today and if Milford does get signed, we'd have a talented running halves pairing. It works for Melbourne where both their halves started at FB and average over 100 running metres a game. The game is shifting more and more away from structured footy to an open, instinct based game. This could play into that.

Neither excite me greatly but both do have talent. How bad must Brisbane's cap be that they can't even put an offer to Tesi Niu?
What puzzles me is that the broncos need a centre, it was widely touted they wanted gagai, so if nui is so good why are they not keeping him?
Jensen ,brenco lee, pierra, the only decent player they have recruited is reynolds, and i hope they come last next year

The Broncos need a lot - including a capable coach!

You're right though, there seems to be no want from them to keep him. As a club that has lost a lot of talent in the past couple of seasons for varying reasons, i would've thought that re-signing someone young and exciting like Niu would be a priority.

big hit!

Geez, the twisted knickers among the support! He's coming in on a one-yr deal!

Benji is most likely retiring at seasons end? Milf most likely comes cheap and on a short-term deal to prove that he still has something to offer in the NRL.

I think he would not be on more than 250 and he will be the 14 so he wont cost much.benji is probably on 200

I like the signing and I’m usually doom & gloom at the best of times.
Taafe or ilias will be our 7 going forward but for mine right now they’re young.
I’d say one of them will get a bench spot next year and come on slowly rather than be our 6/7 straight away.
What if they were our 6/7 and wilted under the pressure of week in/week out first grade??
milford is out of form and out of favour - hopefully and I mean HOPEFULLY JD can get the best out of him.
I’m hopeful we can sign Nui though what a coup that would be!
