Lane is still better than Hipgrave but Papali'i is the best edge forward of the three.

Cartwright may be the surprise packet. Lane had a merkin of a game. But overall was o k . I reckon those early errors held him back from offloading later in the game.

I think Papali'i is a better player than Evans but the Warriors needed to bring some size into their middle and Evans was part of that. But my point is that merkins are judging Papali'i vs Evans based on Papali'i's one game against the shitty Broncos pack, while forgetting that Evans also carved up against the same shitty Broncos pack last year. Twice in fact.

And we do not know what they paid Evans or what we paid Papali. Or personal reasons. Papa may of wanted to move to Sydney.

He’ll be on Radradra coin sitting on the wing. I think he needs to stop playing dumb.

I know there is a Ferrari in the garage, but gee he is running like a tractor. :tractor:

Its as good as he will be. He is 26. Wing is more important then centre these days. You can get away with an average centre or someone who is just strong and can read the defense.
A winger needs finishing skills, good under high ball, knowing when to take the opposition on, good hands and able to make hard yards.
They can be exposed far easier and targeted more often then a centre.
Two of our tries yesterday do not happen if we didn't have Fergo. Guthos and the ine he scored.
Sivo had a similar chance( forward pass) but his finish skills are not the same level. He also was caught out twice for Brisbane tries. Potentisly costing the side 18 points

We definitely need to start Papali'i next week. Lane was dismal in attack and defence, whereas Papali'i was the total opposite. Papali'i also did get some time on the edge, so could be a sign.

I thought the plan to only arrive a few hours before the game backfired on us as we really needed a training run in these very humid conditions, you could see we were all at sea with the conditions in the first half. Once we got used to the conditions we hung onto the ball much better in the second half.

There really is an enormous amount of Eels fans up this way, the Eels support base in Brisvegas is amazing, blue and gold scattered all throughout the stadium.

I thought Reed Mahoney was excellent last night, him and Guth just never stop busting a gut for the Eels

Big Papa has been a great pick up, good on BA for speaking to him.

Sivo needs to have some one kick his arse and wake him up before he gets on the field, he was a spectator for Broncos second try, he watch the kick then escorted the Broncos player saftely to the try line, he made no effort to tackle him he just watched it all happen. He did make some good hit ups but jeez he's gotta give 80 mins and make an effort to defend.

Nice to see Fergo get an early try hopefully he has a much better year this year.

And lastly a big rap for Dylbags, without him on our right hand side we could have been down by 25 points or more at half time. For a little bloke he makes Blake look so inept, it beggers belief how a player at NRL level just cannot tackle.

Radradra would be on at least double Blake's money, which is why no NRL club can afford him. I reckon Blake would be on less than Ferguson, and if he played wing we'd get more runs out of him.

When did the team fly up?
I saw Drown in the CBD around midday and he was in casual gear not Eels gear.
Didn't someone say they flew up the day before?

dont know for sure but I read an article about a week ago saying that BA will not be flying in till just before each game this year, for away games, which was a change from what he has been doing in recent years
