No Parra or Penrith players in the team vs Fiji so I don't think this is Mal's first choice 17 yet.

But DCE is the incumbent (I'm aware the last match was over 3 years ago), and he directed QLD around the park to win Origin this season. He has the combo with Munster and Hunt as well. Once Cook and Api were left out, it was obvious who Mal had pencilled in as his first choice general.

Given the short turnarounds between matches, I'm sure we'll get to see every player used at some stage.
