Maybe I’ve been watching a different game but has Grant not been the best player on the field by a mile? Completely took the game away from Fiji

Pretty much. Hunt wasn't sparking much.

That right side didn't work. DCE-Nanai-Homes-Taulagi can't be the combination moving forward.

Don't know why they didn't just run a heap of fullback sweep plays to JAC - he's the most energetic player on the field along with Grant.

Not a bad first hit out by Australia. Clearly not our A team and first get together in 3 years was always going to be rusty.

On the train home after the match. Reasonable atmosphere in the ground but wouldn’t have known anything was happening until you got to within 100m of the ground.

The marketing of the tournament had been awful.

Felt like Fiji were closer than the score line but Oz with too much class; the air kind of went out of the stadium when Add-Carr scored his length of the field job.

big hit!

This numbering system is so unnecessary and annoying.

It's not difficult to work out who's playing which position by field placement, role, and tactics.

I don't know how they've coped in most other sports.

Perhaps we get the boys with letters on their backs instead? FB, LW, LC, RC, RW, etc

How good was the ref compared to the lot we have here. Penalised teams for leaving early in defence and just generally stayed out of the game. The thing I liked most from the ref was him marching a team back 10 for dissent.

Hunt looked like a 7 forced to play 9 and our attack stepped up a gear the moment he was replaced by Grant who I thought was easily the man of the match not Munster.

The new numbering that Australia is using sucks and needs to go straight into the history bin of crap ideas never to be used again.

The English commentary team really highlighted just how stale and off the current Nein line up is. Instead constantly complaining about decisions and talking mindless crap they just called the game. I also loved how the bunker wasn't constantly getting involved in the run of play decisions.

DCE looked clunky and barring injury the 7 position looks like Cleary's too lose.

Interesting. As an Australian who watches Super League quite religiously, I can tell you most poms can't stand Chris Kendall.

Went last night. Aussies definitely rusty, not at full strength and clearly a lot better performances to come. I think both refs had good games yesterday.

I felt a bit sorry for Fiji. They tried their hearts out and paid the worst price for pretty much every error they made. They never gave up even though the game was well away from them early in the 2nd half. They didn't deserve to be 30 point losers.

Hadn't played in a winning team for 3 months.

So what? Everyone carried on about him helping Qld win Origin and his incumbency, yet didn't do much to show he deserved to stay in the Australian halfback spot long term. If Cleary puts in a few good performances over the next few pool games, DCE may be left to carry the drinks in the elimination stages of this tournament.
