Success doesnt mean that every decision or opinion is flawless

Thats a very simplistic and naive way of thinking
The decisions that matter, as in team selections and focus, were good enough to win the NRL premiership. Opinions aren't relevant. In this situation he identified that defence was the way to go, and he picked his side accordingly. It then became critical that reshuffles during big games be kept to an absolute minimum, and hence the need for a 14 who could cover the maximum possible positions on the field and could tackle in the middle, even though he himself was still injured (hence the short minutes). As it turned out the only other viable candidate for the spot was injured in the Parra semi and so he had little option.

So, let me get this straight

Cleary rated May so much he let him go to France at the end of the season and only picked him in the semis because "he had little option" too

With Latrell out I expect Jack Wighton to move to centre, the Penrith halves back together.

Wonder who is the front runner with To'o being out, perhaps Tupou.

The rest will probably be the same as last year, Api or Nicho could go either way.

Tedesco
Tupou
Turbo
Wighton
Addo-Carr
Luai
Cleary
Paulo
Cook
Saifiti
Murray
Sims
Yeo

Api
Crichton
Hass
Martin

Was hoping Jack Wighton’s Origin career is well and truly over - no matter how many injuries NSW have.

I think this is going to be pretty close. I think it will be largely the same side from game 1/2 last year with only forced changes with the possible exceptions;
- depending on To’o’s form after coming back, I could see him being challenged. I thought Tupou was unlucky to not be in the team last year so might be the front runner. I think a bolter could be the big winger from the Titans (if he is even NSW)
- if Latrell is fit (well as fit as Latrell gets) he will be picked. If he isn’t I really hope Wighton isn’t picked; as we know Freddy will pick him I would hope he would be 14. Staggs has been immense the last could of weeks, and if he continues that form he would give whatever sucker QLD pick at right centre (Holmes?) kittens.
- There is doubtless to be a campaign to get Radley picked, as well as Jurbo. I think Sims will be under pressure. Could be Martin, but his ability to play both middle and edge means that he is probably safe.

Can’t see Api getting a run after last year unless they have to (ie Cook gets an injury).

Treboiovik full-back from now on. Not sure who's fit, so will leave the rest of the backs for now. Cleary at 7 if fit.
