I don't think that's because the Gold Coast isn't capable of supporting a club though. They just haven't built up any identity or had sustained success. I think the NRL needs to persist with them though.

I think it is symptomatic of sporting clubs on the Gold Coast really. In hindsight they should of just added a second Brisbane team back in 2007 rather than a GC side but anyway
