I was personally more annoyed with Tedesco's complaints on field. Particularly for the last offside call on the Roosters try line (Multiple players 3 metres offside).

Thats the thing. Robbo is much more articulate and controlled than Toovey, Srick etc etc, but what he actually says on a regular basis is far more whiny. I think he is an excellent coach and I get why players are attracted to be coached by him, but he is a f**kin' A grade whinger.

Broncos are early favourites I'd say. The salt in this thread from Broncos fans is pretty epic for a team with no dog in the fight.

Then why the focus on the one dud call? There were shit calls both ways. The stupid dangerous tackle call was cancelled out with the Verrills try where he clearly lost control before grounding it, not to mention that play should have stopped before he even got the ball. The ball was lost after the tackle was complete, if we were offside then it's a penalty, not play on.

I haven't watched the replay but live at the ground. Couldn't believe they didn't rule lost ball as they have all year

It probably was, I was at the game, didn’t and haven’t seen a replay. Poor defence led to the try. The penalty only gave us possession. Roosters had to defend 1 set, they didn’t and we scored. We left a lot of points out there particularly in the 1st half . Credit to the Roosters they tried really hard, but the better side won.

If he had not penalised him, the ref would have some explaining to do with his boss.

Nah, should never have been a penalty. Defender did nothing wrong at all, sometimes shit just happens.

In saying that it's fair to say Robbos boys have received a lot more soft penalties from Teddy being unco and slipping over into some poor pricks forearm at hip height. I'd confidently bet my balls if you added up the "dangerous/high tackle penalties that are more to do with the attacking player than the defender then Robbo would be well in front.

Mate, he's dead set tackled him around the legs with no lifting and gets done for a dangerous tackle, you go visit any junior rugby league clinic and they're all coaching them to tackle like that.

Sutton missed the shoulder charge, he didn't miss the "dangerous tackle" which directly led to a try, we're going around in circles at this point. Yes there were shit calls on both sides but there's no doubt Penrith got more benefit.

No, it's just me.

I'm salty on the standard of officiating and the fact that refs are never made responsible, it's mis-use of challenges, they should have defended the penalty, etc..

When do the refs cop it sweet and start to be better? They apparently don't, if the coaches get a bit lippy in the press conferences they cop a fine. For the record, I was equally as vocal in the Newcastle game when the Titans got dicked. Toby Sexton apparently "knocks it on", it never touched a Newcastle player and went backwards, no challenges remaining, moments later Edrick Lee is down in the corner being awarded a try that went up as no try and you can't really say for sure that his hand wasn't on the chalk as he grounded the ball, yet it was over turned.

I have no love for either side but I don't agree. People get too caught up in the after-effects of the decisions IMO. The Roosters gave up a try after the dangerous tackle call so it sticks out, but unless the referee is literally awarding an incorrect try that's not on the referee. The decision was wrong and it gave the Panthers an extra opportunity to score but the Roosters could have defended it, even Karenson said as much.

The focus needs to be on the decisions in isolation, otherwise the refs won't be held accountable IMO. Because it's so easy to write it off if you start blaming the ref for events in the game that they don't control.

IMO the missed shoulder charge was an equally poor decision but it's not something people think is obvious if it doesn't "lead directly" to something detrimental to the Panthers.
