I know self interest won’t let it happen but it would be cool if clubs, including Easts, got together and loaned Manly players to make up the shortfall
It shits me when people use religion as justification for bigotry. Religious principles only apply when it suits. Saab has inked his skin & represents a gambling sponsor each week. Just f**k off ignorant twats.

Congrats to Manly for the initiative.

I mentioned in the jersey forum that this jersey would have been f**king everything to me while grappling with my sexuality as a teen in country QLD. Sport was my escapism - it always was - and to have that silent support would have been huge. These boys wishing to boycott it is exactly why the jersey is needed.

Manly fans have a lot to be proud of here.

They’re saying on the news the club didn’t consult the players. This jersey would’ve been put together in consultation with and cleared by the NRL weeks if not months ago, yeh? Bit of an own goal after the Folau saga. The club obviously had a higher opinion of these players than they deserved. f**k these religious nutters, Manly deserve better for such a great initiative

It was damn silly of the club not to consult with the players first if only to avoid an embarrassing moment in the media, especially after the Folau shitstorm, but the fact that they didn't shows that there is a tacit expectation in society now, even among Rugby League footy clubs that you would be supportive of something like this, and the fact that these faceless players have come out and made it clear they're not says a tonne more about them than it does the club.

If I were Manly I would let the mentioned players wear the regular jersey while the rest wear the Pride jersey. The audience can play "Spot the Bigot" and then they can deal with the washup on their social media while the club and the rest enjoy their week.

I hope roosters put 50pts on them if the Manly players boycott (and I bloody hope they aren’t being paid this week!)

Weird take. Hoping to destroy the fellas who’ve done right, and the club doing right.
Yeah good point, why should the guys wanting to play in the jersey get punished?
But why should the guys not willing to play deserve a win when they aren’t playing?
This is a no win situation

Punish them monetary, no wages for the week. That’ll hurt them alone.
