If the Storm were penalised for all of their ruck infringements it would be a different ball game. Any team can rack up 24 points to 6 when they're allowed to illegally control every ruck.
Because your team uses foul tactics to control the ruck and it prevents the opposition from have an opportunity to use the ball. There's nothing more boring than watching one team illegally hold down the other mob every ruck so that they cannot do anything with the ball. Fans want to see a fast flowing game that is won by the better team. Melbourne is a great team, but their victories would be appreciated more by neutral fans if they didn't loiter in the ruck and hold down the tackled player.
