Why isn’t a deliberate offside like Cherry-Evans just then not awarded a penalty try? If he leaves that as he is supposed to the Knights score. At the very least it’s a professional fouls and should be a sin bin.
Yes, professional foul 100%. Should be in the bin.

The most baffling thing though is that Klein didn’t even penalise it, he just played the initial knock on.

So Newcastle have no outside backs left and are deciding to spread it wide?

Seems bizarre.

Even thouigh he got injured, Kalynn Ponga showing what a pea heart he is beforehand. 7 runs for 34 metres?! Talk about rubbish, and yet people are reportedly paying him $1 million+ per season? Overpaid for his efforts deluxe. Guy should only be on a few hundred thousand tops based on what he has achieved on field (which is SFA).

Newcastle are really ehhhhhh plod
I think people really undersold just how bad the Roosters were in round 1. The Knights beat the worst Roosters performance I’ve seen in 20 years, and the Tigers, and all the “experts” were proclaiming them as locks for the top 4.

I thought it was hilarious. That they’ve since reverted to type should surprise absolute nobody.

ponga done same thing in first half came in from offside position to pick up a knock on. Seems the ref has forgotten the rules

I think a player has to be obstructed and judged to have scored a try for a pen try.

The idea of Ponga playing for the All Blacks is truly hilarious.

Say what you will about Union as a sport (and I have!) but that side is as elite as Rugby teams get in either code and he's nowhere near that level.

They would never pick him , guy gets injured every tackle and disappears when the going gets tough
