A lot riding on this one for mine. Tigers are a bogey team for us, so not too worries about that match. However if we dish up the same this week vs a team we've had the measure of lately, I'll be very surprised and disappointed and will likely write our season off.

Don't buy into the bogey team crap. Souths played shit. Pure and simple. On the other hand, Wests nearly played the error free game and needed a field goal to win it.

Souths have played shit in all games this season apart from the Roosters match. They managed to snag wins against St George and Canterbury because of their class, but their completions weren't that great in those matches either.

On paper, they're still a top 4 side for mine. They just need to sort out their errors and discipline.

I fully agree with you, but my point was we always play shit against them once a season, even if we are flying at the top of the table - thus the bogey team factor.

Youd think last weeks loss might be the relaity check Souths need. They are way too good on paper to be fighting for a top 8 spot. Manly missing some forwards but also the only guy who matters.

Souths are ranked 16th on errors and completion rate, yet we're in the top 6 is most attacking and defensive stats (tries scored/conceded, linebreaks made/conceded, tackle busts/missed tackles, etc). And we've played both the Storm and Panthers away. With a rookie halfback and a terribly out of form five-eighth.

Infuriating we're doing some of the complicated things right but failing at the basic principle of holding the bloody ball. At least, in theory, it's an easier fix than other issues.

Keppie and Taupau are back. Potentially Schuster as well. I like Manly tonight.

Souths have been pretty unimpressive since they got pulverised by Penrith. I think they'll stay that way for a while yet.
