Just realised I never actually commented on our draw!! Sorry for the late reaction haha.
Certainly the toughest start you could ask for really, two tough away trips against very strong teams (one a Premiership contender) and then two more back-to-back games against contenders. It doesn't get much tougher than that. However, who's to say we can't win all four to start? I'm not saying we will but everyone reads too much in the previous years form. It's a new year, new comp and anything can happen!! If we can win at least two of our opening four we'll be in a good spot but it'll certainly be a big test to begin life without Reyno and Wayne.
I'm fuming that Round 1 against the Broncos isn't our home game. The fans in Sydney, the die hards, haven't had a chance to farewell Reyno properly and this would have been a great chance to do that. But no, the NRL take that opportunity away from us. I swear we hardly ever get a home game in Round 1.
Not so fuming that the game against the Roosters is in Round 3, Latrell's return game. I know some people hate it but I love it!! It'll be a huge week and that's what the rivalry is all about! I'll lap it up and hopefully Trell kills them.
Anyway, after the opening four Rounds, over all, it's one of the better draws we've ever had in my opinion. Not too hard on us. We've been rated by a few sites to have one of the easier draws in 2022. Particularly love that we're playing the Warriors twice next year! That's double chances for bragging rights and boxes of beer over my mates!!!! Just wish one of the games was in over here in NZ. Oh well.
The Origin period isn't too bad for us and we only have one five day turnaround which is great!!
Apart from the tough start, very happy with our 2022 draw!!
