Yeah they set the standard these days.

God knows why it took them so long.

They are still 4 world cup wins behind us though 😉.
In the 90's, English sport was an absolute joke, not just cricket. For some reason, they had absolutely nothing in any of the major world sports.
I think the London Olympics has done something in the psyche of sport in that country. The country tipped a load of money into sport a few years before that and English sport has not looked back. Major sports these days, England do very well in.

*Football.....a major world cup contender now.....a joke not all that long ago.
*Cricket....competitive very well at home and away.
*Rugby union.....major player.
*Rugby League.......best I've seen English players play in a VERY long time.

We like to give the English a lot of shit but they have their sport in order a shitload more than what we do. Im not saying the Big Bash is world standard cricket....but the vast majority of this squad have played in big bash cricket. The specialist 20/20 Pom players play a shitload more of this format than Australian and even Indian players. They look to have this format worked out.
Who cares, it's a bat dominant shitfest.

I want to like this twice over.

Where was the famous Indian spirit?
For all our woes India fancy themselves as experts at this. Sure, they made the finals, we didn't. Still this is an epic beat down. Their bowlers were completely demolished.

Pakistan 🇵🇰 v England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Reserve day will be Monday 14/11/22. If it rains, for a game to go ahead both teams must be able to bat10 overs each.

If it is washed out then both teams will be declared winners.

Im not sure if Marvel Stadium is being prepared for anything but I'd be thinking that it would gradually be prepared for cricket as the big bash is approaching. Marvel is an indoor stadium.
Surely some consideration should be given towards moving the game there as it has a roof. The cup has defied my expectations......it has actually been a really competitive, good event. It deserves to have a completed final to close things up.

They needed to either hold the final at Marvel Stadium from the outset, or have it booked in case of rain (at the MCG) from the outset as well. Anything else isnt logistcal nor feasible. They had the supercars there few weeks back , the field is/was a dirt dump and people wanted rained out group matches moved there lol

Today they have a massive indian cultural event (no doubt this was timed in anticipation of india being in the final tomorrow)

Hopefully they get on today & Pakistan can complete the double for England in losing a Cricket World Cup Final and League World Cup Semi Final on the same day.
