Last month have seen a return of the blow out results

What do we feel is the contributer?

I suspect a lot of it is to do with two factors

- off field contract issues
- long season as players bundy off

What do people think?

I think before the NRL expanded and bought in the Phins they should have helped the struggling clubs. Nobody wants to see any of our clubs struggling. We want all clubs to be strong. There's not enough talent to go around

Tigers 66 Cowboys 18.

Which of these clubs was struggling in Round 12?

17-club comp. Somebody will always be running 17th on the ladder. Doesn't mean they are terminally struggling.

Waiting for the Phil Gould and blow up about it and NRL crackdown. Refs can derail momentum if a game starts blowing out by calling forward passes, dragging player back to the spot of the tackle to play the ball and pumping out 6 agains for the team that is behind

Coaching.

Sheenius clearly lost touch with the meta of the game.

I watched the Panthers 03 season highlights a week back and was amazed at how less intense the contact in defence was.

Every tackle now is a battle to be won with flow on effects.

The well coached teams play every tackle like it could be the last.

That attitude against even a slightly poorer one will only end one way.

Disagree. There's enough playing talent to go around.

Whether there's enough talent in the boardroom though, well that's up for debate.

In the 6 again era, once the opposition gets momentum, its very hard to stop.

In theory this is a good thing, as its stops shitty teams just giving away penalties, laying the ruck etc. to try to keep the score close.

I suspect the can't win the preimership if you concede 50 points "golden rule" is due to be broken in this era.

Agree. And while penalties are big advantages, they also take more time off the clock. The ball is in play a hell of a lot more now, and the usual tricks like kicking for touch to give the forwards a breather no longer work.

They wanted to speed the game up, but I'd argue they've gone too far.

someone is getting hopeful about the Cowboys chances this year lol - in all seriousness I think they are a darkhorse this year.

I reckon there is a lack of depth in quality head coaches. You look at Bennett at the Dolphins. One of the most improved players this year has been Jeremy Marshall King. Bennett continues to get the best out of his players. Not sure other coaches do likewise.

But it's junior development and elite coaching.

I doubt Bennett does much in the first category (and nor should he)

Same deal at the Warriors, Webster has made a huge difference to a roster on paper isn’t much better than last year’s.

The Warriors were always a team that on their day were enigmatic but just didnt have the right the processes in place to be consistent week after week.

I love seeing the Warriors playing consistent footy. Their fans deserve it.

I don't know what it was about the past squads or coaches but it was almost like they didnt have the mental edge that the better teams had, despite being pretty good on paper.
