I can understand being ineligible for the actual Dally M Player of the Year award through suspension, but positional awards? That's dumb.
Don’t worry, they’re already moaning about golden child Walsh being ineligible. Which they might have some point with except he got suspended for swearing at a ref, ffs.

Gal is a month breather but he isn't wrong here. Webster is a wonderful man, he turned our club around after 12 years of failure, but we were never Premiership contenders. I'd give it to Walters given the Broncos are a red hot chance, ignoring the fact that Ivan is potentially about to become the most consistently outstanding coach in modern NRL history

Gall is ignoring history of how the awards have been given out. I laid it out up thread on Thursday last week. Plenty of times it's been given to the "big turn around from the year before" result as opposed to the perennial Premiership contender.

Yeah, he's not saying Webster won't get it...he's saying he shouldn't. He's very likely to get it. I love Webster like I love the first warm sunny day after a cold winter. And I think Gal is a meathead. But I agree with him. I think Walters is a better choice. Walters was under immense pressure - the history of Broncos underachievement, the Cobbo podcast BS, the immense pressure from that city on him to get it right. The Broncos were always premiership threats this year...we never really were. Webster is an incredible bloke and coach, but I think Walters deserves it more. That's what Gallen is saying.

I know there's a reason the 'best' coach doesn't get it each year. The best coach in the comp is Ivan Cleary, and it ain't really close. But if they gave it to the minor premier and/or best side's coach each year, it'd be boring. And I have no problem with how they do it...but I also have no problem with Gal calling it out on not being given to the best coach.

Tigers fans - do you think koroisau should've been nominated?
Tough to say, he missed a lot of the season, however our performances fell off a cliff when he picked up that injury. He really couldn’t have done more to get us over the line in the games he did play.

Webster is the rookie coach that made a team and country believe again. He wins it for me. Best coach doesn't always mean trophies or a well oiled machine, sometimes its just self belief and fight. Webster done that and a whole lot more in his first year. Next year will be interesting to see if this is the start of a good era under Webby.

I was going to say, he hasn't even been successful in doing that this year.

Marzhew's last two games may have counted him out, even though he led the comp for tackle breaks and ended up with 20+ tries. Not that he should win but was a top 6 winger this year for sure.
