So aside from the fact we know there wont be any mid season tests in NRL how come we still have no clue what WILL be played? Does any other sport go from year to year with no clue about what it will do the next year on the international stage?

A 6 Nations tournament involving England, Australia, NZ, Tonga, Samoa & France is a no brainer next year. Why France? They are hosting the next world cup and need to be playing the top guys every year in the lead up.

A kangaroo tour to England plus one off tests v Tonga and Fiji.

Each country would also play one off games v Wales and France as would England earlier in the season. Wales could also play the French.

Gives England 7 tests, Australia, Wales and France 5, Tonga and Fiji 3 Tests.

So the Sydney Morning Herald is now reporting that the 23-24 International Calendar may not be announced until March..

No surprises as to who’s to blame..

Looks like IRL‘s trying to build a ten year calendar.
Mention of the world nines coming back In 2027 and 2031.
So far for 2023 we have, mostly, rumoured
a six nation euro cup confirmed with ‘possibly’ England and France involved
A 4 nation pacific cup with Australia and nz in it
possibly a PI team touring northern hemisphere

Can’t confirm anything until nrl cba is sorted. Only in RL!

The RLPA.

It is a load of shit that Penrith's players had to get permission to comeback to training early to play in the WCC.

Garbage like that is what holds the game back

Tonga keen to tour England at the end of the year.
Let's hope it goes ahead as a win win for both countries
I think it would be a great tour and a decent alternative.

Give Tonga something to strive for. Perhaps take a few from the domestic league

Also a game against Wales and France..

If they pick a venue roughly in the north-east, north-west & London, so they are appealing to three different audiences, they should comfortably get 20K+ to all 3 games.

Tonga should be a pretty easy opponent to hype up, just based upon the last two matches between them and England/GB.

Not so sure, there isn’t the tradition of the kiwis or kangaroos. Would have to be right venue right price and some very good marketing to get 20k to a tongan tour I feel.
Wigan, Leeds and Newcastle or London should be the venues.
