That's close to full-strength for the Maroons, Karl Oloapu, Robert Toia & Josiah Pahulu would be the big outs for the team.

Who are the Blues missing? The Penrith Panthers winger Jesse McLean was initially named in the squad but has been called into the NRL squad ahead of their clash against the Dolphins.

Also @Timmah any word on who will be the touchies?

Well haven't seen much from Mozer this half to justify the hype again in U19 SOO. Would be getting Satrick on immediately to provide some much-needed creativity.

New South Wales 32 (Ethan Strange 3, Ethan Ferguson, Ethan Sanders, Savelio Tamale tries; Ethan Ferguson 4/6 goals) def. Queensland 14 (Timothy Sielaff-Burns, Wil Sullivan, Caleb Jackson tries; Timothy Sielaff-Burns 1/3 goals)

It was a dominant performance from NSW right from the opening set. The Maroons tried to work their way out of trouble only to find themselves running into a brick wall. On play two, the Blues were able to force a turn-over and found themselves immediately on the attack.

Hooker Billy Scott combined well with both his halves and they were able to provide quality ball for their outside backs. The right edge of Strange & Ferguson in particular were incredibly classy with Ferguson's put down and Strange's juggle being the highlight.

The pack completely out-muscled the Maroons and right as the Maroons were gaining some ascedency Luron Patea came onto the field and swung it right back for the Blues.

It was a well deserved win and fans will be excited with their prospects.

On the other hand, the Maroons would be disappointed with their efforts. It seemed like captain Blake Mozer was trying too hard to finesse the Maroons over the line. However the middle was struggling for momentum and neither Lamont or Huen were creating much shape.

They did take the lead off the back of a fortuitous penalty that eventually led to a mistake by Stewart. Lamont did well to take advantage of Mozer's ball-playing through the middle and with the defence up, put in a good kick behind the line and the chase from Sullivan was well rewarded. Then the Maroons put a nice set together off the kick-off and Jackson did well to get on the outside of Feledy while he was getting ready to catch the ball.

They should have gone on with it but costly errors from Hinchey and Faagatu along with some lax defence gave the Blues a sniff and they took full advantage. Off the back of a Ferguson offload, the Blues were able to shift the ball to Strange who hit a hole before linking up with Sanders who did well to beat the chase before giving the Blues an important half-time lead.

Queensland were able to lock the scores up shortly after half-time, but quickly surrendered it after a series of errors and the Blues backline proved far too strong for the Maroons.

Canberra Raider Ethan Strange was a popular pick as Man of the Match. He received plenty of support from Latu Fainu, Ethan Sanders, Ethan Ferguson, Myles Martin etc.

Caleb Jackson produced the biggest plays for the Maroons while Wil Sullivan gave a whole hearted performance. The others played well in patches but all in all they'd be disappointed with their performance.

It could have been worse if the penalty count was more even. 7-2 to the home-side and there were a few calls that went the Maroons way including a blatant grab and later push in the back on Chevy Stewart. It could have easily been deemed a professional foul but it wasn't ruled that way by the official.

A bump on this thread.

Plenty have changed clubs. Some haven't kicked on.

That alternate QLD side has a few decent players with some getting NRL, Development, and Train & Trial deals for the 2025 season.

The biggest question is where Chris Fa'agutu ends up? Another promising QLD junior rep star who stalled at the Tigers (Mikaele like).
