God I hope we win this. Souths are out of form and we are at home.

They are still a good team though and if we don't bring our A game, there could still be trouble.
It's reverse year for Souths. Defeated Penrith, Storm. Lost to Eels, Dragons.

We've had the wood over the Warriors for the past little while, so if the trend continues, you'll win!

Battle lines are drawn at our house.

I cheer for the Warriors, my wife is a Rabbitohs fan. (My son is thankfully neutral, being a Bulldogs fan)

It also coincides with the start of school holidays here in NZ, so we'll grab some fish & chips and settle in for the night.

It's very much a 4-point game - given that both teams are in that 5-8th place range.. just as important to deny the other team competition points!

I think it'll be Warriors in a close one, packed stadium to cheer them along (that's a big plus to have).

General question, why did your son pick the Bulldogs?

He was very young (was a few years ago), and his team was beating the Warriors in a fame, plus he likes dogs - especially pugs, which are not too far from a Bulldog... and it just stuck.

Should have been the Sunday arvo 4 pm game, more people to witness another hearty 80 minute slap stick comedy sketch.

Warriors by 44-12.

Rumoured Souths back 5 for tomorrow: Blake Taaffe, Alex Johnston, Richard Kennar, Taane Milne, Tyrone Munro

Tass' partner is due to give birth and Graham has apparently succumbed to the sternum injury.

Ouch.

Why do Souths have such poor outside back depth?

Even making the prelims there have been some average players who can't do the basics of their position.

Is it a junior coaching thing focusing on the best athlete rather than developing competent skills? PENRITH seem to have a production line of low mistake backs who can slot in when required.

It's been our Achilles heel for as long as I can remember. Every prelim (and the 21 GF), through injury or suspension, we've had outside backs line up like Corey Allan, Jaxson Paulo, Bailey Sironen, Jed Cartwright, Richie Kennar, Blake Taaffe, Adam Doueihi (at fullback).... Then guys like Nathan Cleary have kicked us to death and the back 5 can't work it out the backfield.

Alex Johnston is the best at what he does, but he's not much use in our own 20m and we've been screaming out for a big, strong outside back to help Campbell Graham out. When Taane Milne is your best option there...

There are massive raps on Tyrone Munro who is debuting tomorrow (he's tall and Addo-Carr/Hammer fast but only 18 and has a lot of filling out to do), but the kid was in SG ball earlier this year so it's way too early for him to expect big things this year.

Josiah Karapani was all set for debut last year too, he's a beast centre in the lower grades, but he missed a good 6 months last year due to a serious blood infection and is only just starting to find some form again. Ethan Ferguson looks a good buy too but he's playing Flegg.

But yeah, we've been crying for a tall, athletic outside back for 5 years. It's why we went hard after Dom Young and then got Jack Wighton when it fell through.

The Weather will be a great leveler for the visiting side. Big Storms rolling through Auckland. The Warriors will not have the speedy track they like to use to exhaust other NRL sides, and they won't so easily bring their fresh new backline plays without turn overs coming into play. Even though they train in that weather, the new backline moves are just that....new.

Still, the way Shaun Johnson is playing, still gives the Warriors the point of difference with the threat he is moving around and among the big Souths Pack, and he has the ball on a string with his boot, so Souths will have to face some chancer kicks in greasy conditions.

It is going to be bloody miserable out there with hail stones possible, certainly won't be a full stadium.

Warriors favorites, Souths a good chance.

Losing Curran is a big out for us.

But its helped by the fact that souths are playing Taane Milne.
