It’s a very interesting game.

The Panthers are yet to recover their full mojo after years of being one of the most dominant sides in league history.

Yet no one could face predicted how well you played last week. We saw plays that we’ve never seen before.

Davey hanging onto that ball, was sheer mind over matter.

if you have that mindset, you will deal with them appropriately.

Otherwise, I think it could go either way.

I’ve tipped the smug for a threepeat.

They will play it rough I think.

My opinion on Riff is that I think everyone is seeing this wrong. Both games it was passing down rain.. I reckon if it wasn't raining, they win both games and everyone starts saying ah f**k a 3peat..great

Ivan sucks but he is the best coach in the game.

He should be coaching one of the Origin sides or Australia.

He just picks things up quickly.

They will work on getting Latrell off his game, because he’s vulnerable. Nathan should go high and wide. Set him up to pulverise him and hope he explodes.

You have a couple of injuries that worry me.

They are a formidable side, but not as threatening as they used to be.

They shouldn’t be hated @callmack1, they have some cultural wrestling going on, but not all of them are low gutted dogs.

They like to party.

Gooooooooood morrrrrrning Souths fans!!! And happy game day! A glorious morning. The kind of morning you wake up, and Rugby League is the first thing you think of, at least it was for me anyway. Lots of anticipation for tonight as take one of our biggest rivals in an absolute blockbuster, the Penrith Panthers. Doesn't get much bigger than this and it's only Round 2!

I feel it's appropriate to now call Penrith one of our biggest rivals because it's clear as day they are. I know many of you feel it, I certainly do and I think the players do as well. I've made no secret of my intense, and I mean intense, dislike of them. I won't go into that today because you all know where I stand on that but let's just say I'm burning today, burning deep.

It has become a huge rivalry this one but it's fair to say it's been pretty one sided. The Panthers have won 9 of the last 10 with our last win coming in Finals week 1, 2021. Before that, you've got to go all the way back to Anzac Round 2019, that's the last time we bet them in the Regular Season. Those stats are just ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous and I am f**king sick of it. I'm sick of this mob walking all over us, I'm sick of them constantly having it over us. I'm sick of everything going their way and I'm sick of their constant attitude. Absolutely sick of it all, I've had enough. 2023 is the year we finally turn the tables on them and that hopefully starts tonight. It has to!!

Not really sure entirely what to expect from Penrith tonight because of some stuff that's been going on with them but I will tell you one thing, they're going to be extremely pumped up, and I mean extremely. They've lost a couple of big games in a row and that will be driving them in a massive way. If anything, that makes them more dangerous. They're bound to click sometime and I just get a horrible feeling it's going to be tonight. We have to be good enough to go with that.

In terms of our performance, tonight is all about stepping up, getting that South Sydney spirit flowing through your veins and defying the odds. There's so many things against us this week but we can't let that get in the way and it's not an excuse. Every single man out there in the Red and Green has to do a job out there, every single one of them, especially the forwards, needs to aim up and stick it to them. Absolutely stick it to them. It doesn't matter what forwards we're missing, it's about what we've got. It's just 17 men against 17 men and this is the same line up we outplayed the Sharks with for 60 minutes. We can bloody well do this tonight! The boys have gotta believe.

This game today is going to be won through the middle, how much free reign Cleary gets and errors. We have to make sure we're spot on with all of that tonight.

Ughhhhhh I am just so pumped up for this one!! If I feel like this now, I can't imagine how I'm gonna feel just before kick off. I want this win so bad against one of our most hated teams. She's a big old game day, let's lap it up!!

Well my fellow Souths faithful here we are Game Day is upon us. What a blockbuster it is tonight as we take on the back to back premiers on their home turf at Penrith. It’s going to be an almighty challenge. Coming off the back of a short turn around as well. Hate isn’t a word we use lightly but that’s exactly how we feel about these smug arrogant pricks from Penrith. No doubt they’re a quality team but a dirty team as well who have ended our season the last few seasons I think it’s 9 of the last 10 they have won against us and quite frankly I’m over it as I’m sure we all are. It’s a new season and there is a burning inside of me to turn this ship around and lets stamp our authority over them.

Last week was a mighty effort from our boys considering who we were without and losing Arrow and Tatola early the likes of Cheeks, Moale, Shaq etc…. really stood up for us and it was pleasing to see. Going into tonight we are without 6 of our forwards and Moale is carrying an injury so it makes it even harder but I see it as a next man up mentality whoever puts that jersey on it’s an opportunity for them to put their best foot forward. DSF and Jed come in this week and I’m sure will be looking to put in a strong performance. It will all start in the middle of course so we need Murray and Tom to lead the way with strong performances along with Keaon. For our fringe first grade forwards it’ll be about whether they can back it up again. We will also need strong games from Lachy and Cody especially with our kicking game and building pressure. We showed we can attack both sides of the field last week which is great it looks like we are showing it’s not just our left side that can attack it’s that right side as well. Trell there doubt over him but we need a big game for him tonight we need some moments of brilliance if we are to win. The likes of Campbell, Tass and Thompson will have to make big metres again. Our edge defence too for mine needs to improve on last week. Really all over the park we can’t afford any lapses defensively otherwise they’ll make us pay. Cookie as well was great last week but needs to back that up tonight. Our completion rate is gonna have to be over 80percent for mine we simply can’t afford cheap errors.

Looking at Penrith well they have been hammered this week in the media and their character has been questioned. I’m expecting them to be burning inside and come out and try ambush us, we all know the threats they possess all over the park and they’re a champion. Add in Atkins on field ref to the mix who has previously given us the very round end of the stick on field against these guys of late and when he’s in the bunker it’s been the same….. so if we are to win tonight we will have to overcome adversity and try to not let that phase us we will need to dig deep and beat 18 men.

SO MY FELLOW RABBITOHS MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS WHETHER AT THE GAME TONIGHT AT HOME, THE PUB ETC…… EVERYONE ON YA FEET AT 7:59PM TONIGHT LETS GET RIGHT BEHIND THE BOYS WEARING THE COLOURS PROUDLY SCREAMING YOUR LUNGS OUT AND CLAPPING YOUR HANDS RED RAW LETS DO THIS LETS GO RRRAAABBBIIITTTOOOHHSSSS!!!

Penrith have lost too many high level players to regain a "mojo". Its simply FACT. When Souths lost Coote and Lurch we never were the same again and became relatively easy beats. What's worse for Penrith more good ones are soon departing, especially Crichton. Teams cannot replace the likes of Crichton, Kikau Apple Korosau and Burton among others: hence they drop a level or two. Its FACT so Penrith supporters best get used to that. There will be no more GFs for Penrith in the near future.

Us fans should complain to the NRL Hierarchy/Regime about the Schedule. Its totally unfair for Souths to be @ Cronulla then @ Penrith within 5 days! Then next up its Eastern Suburbs! The players are NOT robots its an extreme draw no other club has anything remotely like this. Penrith get St Helens @ Home then Brisbane @ Home than SS @ Home followed by .... a Freaking BYE!!!!!! Who has been in the past three GFs... SS or Cleary????
Is someone like Buettner responsible for this?? Or the host of ex-Easts players employed by the NRL Bureaucracy?? I mean with this Discriminatory Schedule our roster could be decimated within the first 4 rounds, thus impacting negatively on results.
