Those x5 ODI matches against SA look pretty important for team selections. Especially the batting.

Big questions on Davey. Could be Head/Marsh opening like we saw in India.

Also curious about 3/4. Steve Smith takes one spot and maybe Marnus?

There's been a rescheduling of 9 matches in the World Cup, two of those changes affect Australia:

The game v England is a day game 4pm start here

That must be an error on Cricinfo's behalf, as the official ICC World Cup website has that Australia vs England fixture as a day/nighter (7:30pm AEDST start), and the New Zealand vs Pakistan fixture as the day game on November 4:

Interesting how we go this world cup.

After the failure in T20 WC at home last year. You would think there is a bit of pressure on the Aussies to go deep here.

Well in my lifetime it's been an expectation to win the WC having seen us lift 4 trophies in the 6 ODI WCs in my lifetime that i have watched. The 2 we didn't win were 2011 and 2019.

2019 we were actually the dominant team in the group stage and a last round loss to South Africa put us on the wrong side of the semis draw instead of the Kiwis. With Khawaja and Marsh going down with injuries meant we had lost our batting depth in the semis.

Does anyone care about T20 really?

I just remember Stoinplod blocking out two overs to get his eye in before getting out not much later.

Former Australian cricket captain Tim Paine has detailed whispers he’s heard from within the Aussie camp surrounding David Warner’s place in the team.

Paine said the whispers surrounding the 36-year-old are that his place in the batting order will fall, likely seeing him bat at either four or five.

The move would see Head and Marsh open the batting for Australia. A partnership that was prolific during their three match ODI series against India in March.

That squad could win the world cup, its pretty open imo between us, India, England, Pakistan and New Zealand.

Probably lack a real finisher and decent back up spin option.
