Some key points from RFL annual report:

Participation
Overall rose 1% to 98,000
This included a 17% increase in youth age group players and a 6% increase in Jnr girl participation
Open age male declined 8%
Wheelchair RL grew 8%
Participation in schools, colleges and Uni grew 1.35%
Games volunteer base grew by 4.3%

TV
SL 11.7million viewers on Sky and BBC over the season
11 games avg over 200k viewers
3 games over 300k
4 games over 400k
4 games over 500k avg
73.7k watched the championship final on streaming (highest Sportsman channel audience since 2021)

2.4m watched the CC rounds and final
1.2m watched the CC final on BBC
414k watched the womens CC final

1.3m watched the Eng v Samoa test series

2024 season avg 9,620 (5th best in SL history)
Total attendance for SL 1.6m
Total attendances for test series 31,205

Financial
RFL made a loss before tax of 0.5mill (same as 2023). This included a loss on the sale of Odsal to the Bulls.
Govt funding to the game reduced from 4.8mill to 3.2mill
Group staff costs were 4.7mill

Total revenue 13.5mill (down from 15mill)
