I`ve seen the idiot knuckle-draggers with their tap-out t-shirts sending the wrong message about what is important in this world and I`d rather my kid was a wimp (which they aren`t) than be like that.Even participation is flawed. We should be proud that our participation is lower.. it's a brutal sport! Not for any whimp!
I've been twice. It's terrible to watch on TV but it's actually a good day or night for entertainment at the ground.Well argued, but I have to say it will be a cold day in hell before you see me at that ridiculous game.
I totally agree , I'm a boxing man. Someone wobbles or goes down, you stop! Like a f**king human being.I`ve seen the idiot knuckle-draggers with their tap-out t-shirts sending the wrong message about what is important in this world and I`d rather my kid was a wimp (which they aren`t) than be like that.
I really dont get that argument about RL. At the ground you can see the plays unfolding, positioning of players, defensive set ups, the whole picture. On tv you rarely get to see much other than whats going on in the tackle area , which tbh isnt very interesting.I've been twice. Basically the opposite to League in that you see much more at the game than on TV. A big part of the fun is actually how big the crowd is and I really wish League could replicate that part of it. Broncos vs Dolphins was cool, big crowd and a great atmosphere. We need to get our act together...cough cough Sharks..lol
Damn right Harry. Send me $20000 and I'll start a stadium roofs company. It's ridiculous, that we still don't have roofs in our modern stadium's. Absolutely pathetic
I went to about 4 eagles v dockers games when we came to perth and one of the reasons I gave up on it was that from behind the sticks you cant see bugger all past halfway its so far away!

Throw in the experience of actually getting out the house and being in a big crowd and the atmosphere and give me a live game of RL over a game on tv any day of the week. Me thinks its a bit of an excuse we make tbh.

Great stadiums, 20k plus crowds every week and affordable, that should be the NRl's goal. Stadiums wise we are getting there at long last, just need Sydney clubs to utilise the good stadiums on their doorsteps and for Vlandys to take interest in Canberra and Auckland.
Would definitely limit what you could put there but you could still fit a bit more than what is currently in place. Rules out anything with a roof though.View attachment 86004

Old shot above but still there during Reno. I think they’re a bit low, bud.
You need more then that lol. Imagine going to the bank with 20k to open a stadium roof buisness, they would just laugh. Especially when it will cost 50 million for a roof lol.Damn right Harry. Send me $20000 and I'll start a stadium roofs company.
Beg pardon to the other posters for derailing the thread, but it`s an interesting point you make about the effects of the crowd on your experience at the f-ball. I remember when both codes came back during the pandemic, f-ball came across on Tv far worse without the crowd as compared with League, it really highlighted how ridiculous the game was without the baying audience. The big crowds really are their secret ingredient.I've been twice. It's terrible to watch on TV but it's actually a good day or night for entertainment at the ground.

Its no secret that watching sport in front of big crowds is more enjoyable that watching it in front of empty seats. Why no club game should ever be played at Accor anymore!Beg pardon to the other posters for derailing the thread, but it`s an interesting point you make about the effects of the crowd on your experience at the f-ball. The NRL can subsidise clubs that lower prices to get more fans in the gate. Tigers v Parra could have sold out 3 times over but with the price, it was touch and go.Beg pardon to the other posters for derailing the thread, but it`s an interesting point you make about the effects of the crowd on your experience at the f-ball. Part of that is that not many eels fans can bring themselves to go watch a game at stadium Australia now or any other shit stadium. I went there for the GF in 2022 and it was awful.Since 2017 it has only had over 30k once (30420) of 4 games at Accor ,not sure it justifies Parra giving up a home game.
You sound like a school teacher handing out participation stickers to kids. Not sure why the NRL needs to compare itself with the other mob as far as crowds are concerned. Last year, the NRL had the highest attendances in it's history, which also equated to a record high crowd average per game.
And in the recently concluded long easter weekend, it just had the highest attended round ever.
The NRL is going alright at the present time. The only comparison the NRL should be doing is within itself.
They certainly are, which is what prevented the NRL from subsidising games in the past. The NRL can subsidise clubs that lower prices to get more fans in the gate. Tigers v Parra could have sold out 3 times over but with the price, it was touch and go.
NRL need to get on it because we're getting big crowds without any help. A concerted effort would see crowds explode.
The NRL need to take se initiative because clubs are run on greed.
