Newcastle has had some really significant sales today, especially since full time. When I checked this morning, the upper Western Grandstand only had a handful of tickets sold, looking now, the first 8 rows of all the middle bays in that area have been snapped up.

Upper Andrew Johns Grandstand has also had some significant movement, and extra sections have been opened up. Hopefully they just put the rest of the ground on sale from tomorrow.

Sales have remained strong today and they've opened up more parts of the stadium. Barring alot of seats being held back, gotta be 20k+ sold already. Think we might be looking at a new record crowd in 3 weeks.

The western stand is from the 1990s redevelopment, with the work in 2001-03 being the other three stands and the roof. You can’t really notice apart from the stands not being linked in the higher levels

the theory is rebuilding the western stand will increase capacity and fill in the gaps between it and the other 3 sides

All capital cities in Australia are shit. Brisbane is easily one of the least shit.

Brisbane - hot and humid half the year
Sydney - absolutely no soul and 90% of the people have a face like a slapped arse with various forms of anxiety and depression
Melbourne - literally a heroin den
Hobart - cold, somewhat peaceful, but nothing happens there
Adelaide - bless. The most famous thing about Adelaide is the 'ShitAdelaide' facebook group
Perth - the South Africans that live there think it's great, but that's because Johannesburg was their other option
