Don’t care if there is only 15k at Allianz for the sharks game next week. It’s a dangerous precedent to move a week 2 semi to a suburban ground. Imagine for example next year tigers were hosting dogs and wanted to play it at Leichhardt? And use this as an example. If you can’t get more than 15k in a finals match you don’t deserve to be in the finals, let alone the comp.

2nd week of Finals I thought home grounds < 30k capacity were banned?

You could argue that Commbank is a 30,000 capacity stadium, even if the highest crowd there just fell under that figure with 29, 372.
Obviously not ideal having a final at Allianz Friday night next door to what would be a sold out SCG with the Swans. Commbank would be good, the only other alternative have it Accor on Friday night.

I get that. Though Parramatta isn’t very convenient for those in the shire. After 50 years, I expect they would have a diaspora in the west though.

Its a hard one, it would be chaos around Moore Park Friday but it wouldn't be the first time that a NRL and AFL finals match have clashed at Moore Park on the same day but not sure whether the start times were around the same time for both matches though. The only alternatives if the NRL switch it from Allianz is Commbank or Accor, either way far worse off for any travelling Sharks fans but there is no way it can be played at Shark Park.

CommBank was set up for fans to get their via public transport. So parking is not there.

You are looking at 2 trains from the Sutherland. 3 from actual Cronulla. That assumes someone finishes work in time.

Even Allianz is 2 trains from Cronulla and 30-40min drive. In Sydney peak hour that pushes out to an hour so it isn't like we are talking a quick trip.

No lower grades to attract another teams fans through the gate. And you'd have the same issue with getting there, That is the reality of the modern game.

Very few casuals are going to drop a few hundred attending the game

there was no way 18k there lmao

Was flicking the channels earlier before the Cowboys Knights game kicked off and about 10 mins before the bounce Gnats vs Brisbane the ground looked at least half empty, the upper decks of the Grand stands looked fairly empty, flicked again a bit later and it looked like a lot more in the ground, the capacity of the ground is around 23,000 and for once they looked like they had a decent crowd, the AFL reported it as 18, 357 so who knows. Either way the Gnats chocked in their own vomit again tonight .

So do you think it should be played at Shark Park then ?
