If 17,005 is a "sell-out" for a test match involving two of the top RL nations in the world, might as well have played it at Brookvale Oval instead.

Today's game deserved a much bigger crowd than 17,005. Need to play at the larger venues
is there a larger venue in Christchurch?

Yeah it`s on the NRL.com at the Pacific Championship page. Teams are `TBC` but venue, game time and broadcaster all there.
Have to admit I`m stunned this has been relegated to Gem and Now, it`s the final and will rate very strongly, especially on the main channel. I`d assumed it was the four o`clock game and I`m going.
its a bizarre decision. It’s almost like they sat around and thought “ how can we guarantee a small crowd and tv audience ?” ….lets put the final on at 620pm on a Sunday.

A sell out is a sell out chump. If the stadium held 5,000 and they sold 5,000 tickets it’s a sell out.

If you want to argue that the event should be played at a bigger stadium go for it but your use of sell-out in quotation marks makes no sense.

Nine is reporting that the 4pm game is the Cup Final, just to add some confusion to it all...
Nrl.com is now listing both the 4pm and 6 pm games as the final.

I’d put my life savings on the men’s final now being played at 4pm.

What a bizarre arrangement, I`m going (and quietly I was kind of pleased) to see what I thought was the relegation/promotion game as the entre to the Cup Final, now you`re telling me it`s the other way round. Suppose it makes sense for Tv and I can cop that.

All lower bowl seats now sold at Mt Smart (Bays 10-17 in the West, 36 - 34 in the East and 19 - 25 in the South). Upper South has had all bays put on sale, although the last 12 rows haven't been released for bays 18, 19, 24 & 2.

Upper West, the corner bays of 1 & 9 have finally gone on sale. Outside of those two bays, there is possibly only around 150 tickets left throughout the rest of the western side. Bays 35 & 43 haven't been put on sale yet on the East and still a lot of seats available in the upper east.

Unlikely to sell out, possibly around the 18K mark at the moment.

Auckland crowd looks rather ordinary.

Fixture had 23k in 2019, then 20k in 2022.

Imagine it may be due to price of tickets, and the NZRL seeing the game as a bit of a cash cow. Then again, Tonga haven’t won a game in a long time - so a natural slide.

18k would be a disappointment, begs question of where the Kiwi fans are.

That’s disappointing

Do you think the whole season is too long with club, state and internationals...9 month season for a full contact sporrt.
