Assuming it is NZ, Tonga and Samoa could play all games in NZ with Tonga v Samoa at Mt Smart and the others spread around the country

Though do like the idea of at least 1 game in Samoa

I’d go final at Eden park, assuming they do the relegation game again you’re guaranteed to have NZ, Tonga & Samoa all playing.

NZ games Vs Tonga & Samoa in NZ. Tonga V Samoa in Sydney or Brisbane.

Bowl: Fiji V PNG - 1 home game each with a neutral game as a double header with Tonga V Samoa.

The Kiwis are likely to have zero home games in 2026 with the RLWC being in Australia & PNG, let them host the 4 Tests and make some money and try and rebuild their supporter base.
New Zealand v Samoa - Christchurch
Tonga v Samoa - Eden Park
New Zealand v Tonga - Dunedin/Hamilton//Mt Smart/Christchurch again

Final - Eden Park

gee the NRL has come a long way (and/or AFL has dropped a bit)
A few years ago it might have been 15k for the NRL and 30k for the AFL

This includes AFLW - which drastically affects the average, but also scattered NRLW and Pac Champs results

The AFL averaged 37,000 last year, NRL 20,000.

Seems Broncos aren’t the only team moving away from GA this season.

Warriors have made their southern stand ticketed seats instead of GA this season. I was hopeful they could open part of the Northern hill for 1000 or so GA tickets but nothing at this point. Anzac Day last year they had a few hundred at the top of the hill, likewise Auckland FC’s sellout games have had a similar number sitting up there so they don’t seem too strict on people sitting there.

Storm have announced 3 of their games won’t have GA in anticipation of big crowds. Games Vs Warriors R6, Rabbitohs R8 (Anzac Day) & Roosters R26 will be fully ticketed.

NRL has had some big improvements in recent years - that 21% increase in 2023 is pretty much a record percentage increase (the AFL did 17%), but both attendance averages were records

Although RL crowds have recently been growing at a faster rate, RL is not actually catching up. It is just not falling as far behind each year. Crowds would need to grow at almost double the % of the AFL to actually start catching up. I.e. if the AFL grows by 17%, RL would need to grow by about 32% to start closing the gap.

This is correct. A few here just can’t do maths I’m afraid.

We will never get close to them in crowds - but we don't need to. Their crowds are incredible on a global scale, mainly due to their cult like support in Melbourne. I can't see them ever cracking a 40K average though.

Having said that, if we get expansion right I expect we will surpass them in most other metrics over the next 10 years.
