The nrl are a joke. They say they want the players to stop targeting the head yet do nothing to stop them.

And then they suspend a player like ravalawa for weeks for using his shoulder to tackle a player in the midriff.

I'll find that video about that ridiculousness.

lol at 4-5 weeks for Suaalii’s tackle.
Dom Young’s was much worse, swinging arm at a higher level, on a player more upright and got 2 weeks.

I didn't see this incident but I thought tripping was a fine?

They only care about image. Simply going back to a 5m rule limits tackles like we saw on Wednesday.

They want to have the high impact contact and look like they care about players

Canterbury v Parramatta

Kurt Mann (Canterbury)
  • Grade 2 Crusher Tackle on Will Penisini (56 min)
  • Base penalty 3 matches
  • His options:
    3 matches - guilty / no contest
    2 matches - early plea
  • PLEA: TBC
I think they should have hammered him harder than this - this was a text book crusher - lifted and slammed him down in crusher motion - it was deliberate.
Stop rubbing blokes out for the odd game where the player has purposely backed into the defensive line, as they’re not crushers, just accidents where the attacker has placed themselves in a vulnerable position, but then when you get an example like this, smash them for 8 weeks. That’s how you clean up the game.

Agree how this only got 2 weeks is a flat out joke. This is the one that can injure players not the one where they might have got in the wrong postion! He literally jumped and pushed down on his head!

No charges for ball-bop-gate? I'm shocked, and appalled. The fact Chanel is free to bop more balls on more players heads is quite frankly a danger to society at large.
Townsend should have been rubbed out of the game for his reaction. Fancy just walking away.
