Nine / Stan had until dec 31 to extend the union tv rights under an exclusive agreement

Looks like they are building a warchest for the nrl rights

They would save around 30 million pa on union which has been a ratings disaster

I wonder if nine just sign up guys like Matty Johns, Voss brandy and Wayne smith given their current commentators are basically useless

Damn Im waiting for consolidated data to be all in before I write something very similar to this. lol

article is based on FTA ratings only, and seems focussed only on the top rating events for each sport. Its not an IN DEPTH analysis of all FTA ratings, nor does it try to aggregate average ratings or declare most viewers over the course of a season/year.

a more accurate headline would be “What were the 10 most watched sporting events on FTA in 2024”
