More often then not, a new kangaroos spine doesn't click immediately. Kangaroos in general for the last 15 years, even while winning, usually have to warm into a series or a tournament.
That being said, if the forwards can lay a solid foundation and this spine clicks and clicks early....
England will be like:

Decent side should win comfortably. That being said how the f**k is Angus Crichton anywhere near a Rep side? He’s about the 4th best back rower at the Chooks.

Note on golden point in this match officials report.

Golden Point

It has been agreed that Golden Point will be available only after the third Test of the series at AMT Headingley on November 8 – if it is necessary to determine a winner of the series, rather than the series being shared.

If the scores are level at full-time of the first or second Tests, the match will be drawn.

If one of the first two Tests has been drawn, and the scores are level at full-time of the third Test, Golden Point will not be played.

I don't think it's a guaranteed whitewash. England have a decent squad with talent in key positions and have comfortably handled Samoa and Tonga in recent years. Tonga themselves have beaten Australia and gone close in finals.

Kev Walters is clueless, Cleary has not exactly set the world on fire outside of club football, and there are some fresh faces.
Australia will be obvious favourites to go 3-0 but there are chinks in the armour if England keep their heads.

Granted, this England squad isn’t as strong as 2017’s WC squad, but England can really lift for big games. It took the combined powers of Smith, Cronk, Slater and Australia’s quality forwards to beat England 6-0 back then.

Yeah I wouldn’t be tipping England but they’re capable of getting a win or being competitive. I’ve seen a lot of talk of how they can’t beat NRL quality sides but as you say they handled Samoa and Tonga (both of whom people would be giving more of a shot against Australia ironically enough).

Also England usually tend to keep things close.

Any one have the International broadcast details for the Ashes Tests?

Trying to get my US mate onto it. He has the Pacific games in his schedule but can’t find the Ashes.

I have a sneaking suspicion that England will ambush this very strong Kangaroos side for Game 1, with the Kangaroos regrouping, making some team changes, and winning the series 2-1. Based on absolutely no evidence but a gut feeling!
Either way I am hoping it's a classic series like those from the 80s/90s....
