It’s always bewildered me. The NSWRL/NRL has always had a smattering of Kiwis, PNG and Fijian players within it’s ranks..And yet England is bordered by Wales, Scotland and Ireland there’s never been a strong history of 5-6 players each from those 3 countries that never really tried to make a name for themselves? (Tbf there was a small group of actual Welsh players)
That’s like saying why isnt there any wa, vic or sa players in the kangaroos!

England usually put on a good contest. That’s what is so frustrating they’re always so close but never quite get there. I just always assume the aussies will get up but as long as it’s close I’ll be happy.

I feel this could be like 2003 all over again.

I assume the Aussies will be pretty relaxed in their build up (I am hoping Kevie brings Langer along and they treat it as one huge piss up) so I can see the poms coming out strong and competing well.

But you just know either Walsh or Grant or Cleary or Munster and a few others will come up with some bullshit magic and rip the hearts out of the poms again.

Who were the old time commentators for the Sky in 2003. You could here the pain in their voice when we stole those three games from them in 2003 so clearly.

Yeah this is what I always assume will happen. Just hope it’s not a blowout because there is a lot of excitement for this tournament and I think that would be a big blow to international league.

John Davidson reporting that Wembley sales are around the 50K mark.

The ticket map seem to support that, with some significant movement over the past week.
Until the RFL announce an update of 50k ticket sales I’ll remain very cautious and sceptical.

been burned too many times about high ticket sales before by the RFL only to be disappointed come gameday.

Eh? England just beat nrl players in Tonga and Samoa in consecutive test series.
That's right
And Tonga. Samoa
Were very competitive
Cause I would guess all the players
Had NRL experience.
All Pacific islands nations
Are getting stronger and stronger
NRL keeps evolving regarding player's heritage
PNG will be the same
Once the PNG NRL team is established
