Storm are averaging 21,609 at AAMI Park and need about 17.2k average from their remaining 4 games to crack the 20k average in Melbourne for the first time.

With games against Manly, Broncos, Bulldogs & Roosters left it’s looking pretty good. Hopefully they can finish with something like 21-22k.

What’s with the sudden growth?
More tv exposure in the Melbourne market?

I remember when the storm were winning comps with slater, smith and Cronk they only averaged about 14k
They were giving Jnr players in vic a 3 game season membership, not sure if thats still happening but maybe it got more families into going to games and they've stuck with it?

That's an amazing result for the Storm.
Can we attribute it to thier focus on growing participation? They've worked hard and it's growing year on year..just a coincidence

Certainly seems to be helping, they had groups from Victorian local clubs do a lap around the field today before the game for Community round which is good to see.

As for a bigger stadium it’ll be a fight to ever get a larger rectangular stadium but you never know. AAMI apparently has the foundations for a 50k upsize, problem is if Storm outgrow AAMI they’ll probably be fighting that battle by themselves unless Victory start getting big crowds again. Plus you just know the argument will be they can play at Marvel if they want bigger crowds.

Storm have not outgrown AAMI and I don’t see how a larger stadium would help them out much. Focus on selling out AAMI.

Average 25k in AAMi and move a couple bigger games to Marvel or the MCG and get 40-50k there.

Maybe take the 1st home game of the season and the warriors home game to marvel.

Definitely not yet, but if they continue to grow at the rate they are it could happen quicker than you think.

2025 - 21,609 So far.
2024 - 19,849
2023 - 18,264
2015 - 13,355

Theoretically if they grow the same again 2025-2035 they’re there.

AAMI park is big enough and if the storm ever reach the point where it’s being sold out every week that would be a f**king incredible accomplishment and one that no one would have predicted just a few years ago. I don’t think stadium capacity at AAMI is a huge issue.
