I'd post that by the next TV deal we have a more formal U20/21 comp similar to NYC back on the menu as well, so that could be game 3.I'd like to see the NRLW move to Saturday as it's own event. The Men's State Championship could still remain as the curtain raiser on the Sunday, and then they'd could consider doing a Women's equivalent on the Saturday.
Haha yeah, Broncos have totally outgrown Suncorp. At this rate we'd sell out Wembley if it was sitting in Milton. So 13000th in a queue for Sunday currently. Suspect this game might be selling well
I’d actually like the see the women’s GF hosted by the highest ranked winner, like they do in the aleague. Best way to maximise attendances and ideally would see the GF move around a bit.I'd like to see the NRLW move to Saturday as it's own event. I’m so glad the new 60,000 seat stadium that’s being built is being done with rugby league in mind…. Oh waitHaha yeah, Broncos have totally outgrown Suncorp. At this rate we'd sell out Wembley if it was sitting in Milton.
Yep so glad Lions are getting that 63k stadium, considering their crowds just a few years ago weren't even averaging over 20k and if they stop being a top 2 team might drop there again.
Nah, not f**k Suncorp, it`s not their fault, f**k the state gov`t for allowing this to happen.Broncos should play their finals games at the new Brisbane stadium to fit more people in.
f**k Suncorp for the real big ones unless they boost the capacity to 65k plus.
10k extra tickets for origin is worth 2 to 3 million extra revenue for the nrl. Plus the corporate facilities will be better then Suncorp too and heavily under-utilised
If the qld govt is stupid enough to continue with the current proposals then the blame is on them for ignoring their dominant sport
It would be a point of difference too for the 3rd Brisbane nrl side to be based out of there to be different
Yep they already think that since origin and wallabies games play at Optus in Perth that means rectangular sports love these big ovals. If they use the stadium it gives incentive for governments like ACT and NSW to build shit for rectangular codes ovals as their primary venues.
Really need to draw a line in the sand here.
Would be a nice way of differentiating the competitions. For pretty much all the non-Sydney teams, you could pretty much guarantee a 20K+ crowd for a home GF.I’d actually like the see the women’s GF hosted by the highest ranked winner, like they do in the aleague. This is a hill RL people need to die on. Governments would love to just build one major multipurpose stadium per city to save money. If RL happily continues to accept Accor in its current state and then starts playing on Brisbane's Olympic oval, large rectangles will just never get built anymore. The argument will be that ovals suit all sports. This view will be feverishly backed by AFL and cricket. And RU and Soccer will do nothing to help us fight.10k extra tickets for origin is worth 2 to 3 million extra revenue for the nrl. You are saying fans didn't turn up. How could you possibly know sitting in front of your TV 160km away? I was there and I can tell you there were plenty of Panthers fans there. Not as many as Bulldogs but Panthers were the away team. Why the f**k would I be at a Dogs vs Penrith game lol? That's for the supporters of those teams to fill it.
I think that Dogs v Penrith crowd of 55k will be the largest non-GF finals crowd - and also the only one where the stadium wasn't over 90% capacityI also think it’s a weird time that people are having this conversation. The AFL got 2 amazing crowds and they’re obviously well ahead of us (and will always be) but we’ve made huge growth the past few years. We’re actually finally looking like pushing through the 20K average crowd barrier that most thought we’d never reach. If we can keep an average around there is be very happy.
There's a thing called television. You are saying fans didn't turn up. How could you possibly know sitting in front of your TV 160km away? I was there and I can tell you there were plenty of Panthers fans there. Not as many as Bulldogs but Panthers were the away team.
