Souths at Allianz wouldn't have got 25k last night .. probably gets same crowd

It's more a scheduling joke

Thursday nights need to be scheduled very smartly.. the high rating TV clubs have an inverse relationship with crowds on a Thursday
The Thursday night brings in big Tv $'s but is sht for fans. Clubs now get a massive grant due to it, they should throw the doors open on a Thursday night and sell any seat for $10. They've already made their money out of it being on tv.

Thursday night footy is a crowd killer. 10k is more than I expected. Even the AFL was down massively last night, it's not a rugby league problem.

I would have gone if that game was in any other slot, but it was logistically impossible last night.

Would have loved to have been there.

Also, feel sorry for our opponents from last night, the Panthers have been hung out to dry by the league next week.

- 6pm start 30km from their base
- against NQ whose diehard supporters won't be able to make it either
- casual fan looking for a night out will go to the derby at Accor
- 3 straight losses as well, plus the fan fatigue from being so successful for so long

Our draw is for TV plain and simple.
“Fan fatigue from being so successful”

that’s it! Sydney RL has officially run out of excuses!

Hard to say how Perth double header is selling as unsure if all sections have been opened up. I suspect not in the upper tier. Probably 30k+ sold by looks of it. Whilst ticket prices have been ok one area that they still get wrong is kids prices. A kids seat in lower bowl is $95 whilst an adult is only $119, that's just stupid.
Hoping to break the 46k crowd of the last one but will need a big run in last 2 weeks.

Is members not showing up a problem as well? Seems a lot more seats are sold than occupied and it's usually more obvious in the undesirable timeslots.

Storm used to do 2-for-1 tickets on Monday nights, this probably not a bad promo for Thursdays as well.

Maybe 250 seats left to Dolphins vs Broncos.

1500 restricted view should come on sale soon. 47-49k possible, but we will see the damage due to weather by the 20th minute.

It would be amazing if clubs stopped trying to sell a Thursday night game like a Sunday afternoon.

Reduce ticket prices, change bay classifications so GA buyers can sit in those empty corners, let members bring a mate (or 10) for free & for venues as big as Accor, close off some areas behind the cameras.

There's a real opportunity for them to use these games to try & attract a different audience than usual.

Also there is a lot of inertia that comes with crowds. Right now people know that Thursday night gets dog shit crowds so that turns away more people. It’s like how NRL crowds started to rise and all of a sudden more casuals start coming and crowds rise significantly. These things have a flow on effect.

I think the two major problems with Thursdays are the late start. Should be 7:30, the extra half hour would make a difference. They should also avoid Homebush and Parra I think most other grounds even Allianz can get people to it for a Thursday.
