2025 Crowd Watch

Seems like demand has exploded tonight - as you'd expect - for Good Friday.

Looking at the seating map atm - GA is unavailable, Souths away reserved (single seats only) and GA (limited availability) are almost gone, and the rest of level 1 is down to single seats. If the release of seats on level 1 has been exhausted, that's effectively 30k on lock already.

Some more seats have been released on level 4 east, I expect much more of level 4 may be opened tomorrow. We might also see level 3 north on sale this week.

View attachment 100698

I know it's not highlighted but tickets for GA 100% available for both sections! They'll need to open up more bays for Level 4 today as all 3 sections opened are down to minimal available, IF GA in the next week or so is Allocation Exhausted then we can start to get excited about the crowd.

Olympic Park is an atmosphere black hole. You know when it isn't? When it's vibing and there's great opportunity to get extra people to the footy? When the Easter Show is on. Like, this Saturday night.

When Souths are playing their home game in Perth.

Madness.

having a look, tickets flying off today + add that usually we see massive walk up due to easter show next door

50-55k is minimum atm, outside of awful weather

is it intentional that there are no NRL games in Sydney this round?

Crowds being at an all time high suggests, the pricing is just right. If you want cheaper tickets, buy a membership, makes games incredibly affordable. Lower prices does in no way guarantee higher crowds but guarantees lower revenue

GC was 1/2 full
Parra was 2/3 empty for Penrith
2/3 full for Parramatta

Accor had 60k extra seats

There are plenty of space to do cheap tickets and improve crowds

Absolute rubbish.
The emptiest area for the Eels/Dragons game on Saturday were the most expensive seats - ie. the $100+ seats.
Not everyone can afford season ticket memberships but do like to go to the odd game here and there, like this one.
Honestly, a family of 4/5/6 is looking at $300 for 90 minutes of football at these prices.
When the cheaper seats are sold out, they have no choice but to decide to watch on tv.
The 19000 crowd on Saturday could have been 23-25 000 with reasonable ticket pricing.
We can do better.

I have people in my group, who got memberships purely to 1st choice at Penrith.

They can't attend Thurs or Fri games, Can see
3 games out of the 8. They are the people that individual game tickets are aimed at

I don’t really understand the strategy (or lack thereof?) behind the ticket release for Good Friday at Accor.

Souths reserved and Souths GA is sold out. There’s <50 reserved seat tickets left from what’s been released.

Is the strategy to max out GA sales before opening up Level 3, and more of Level 4 East? In that case, you’re prioritising lower cost tickets over those that are more expensive, and clearly moving at scale.

EDIT: Since I wrote that, reserved seat tickets are now ~20, and down to single seats.

Ga is still well available

Obviously want to sell out the lower bow

But level four is moving five bays are almost full

Is it possible to see a map of GA that shows how many tickets are left? Or we can only judge based on the fact it doesn’t say limited availability?
Nah I just put in best available five tickets and that’s what came up

The other bays you can see what’s available and it’s basically nothing

They’ve added and pretty much sold out two bays up in the 400 today

To put it in context some numbers to beat:
26540 - Highest non-Broncos average (Warriors 1995).
25562 - 2nd Highest non-Broncos average (Dolphins 2023).
23572 - Highest Sydney club average (Bulldogs 2012).
23364 - 2nd Highest Sydney club average (Roosters 2024).

Those are accurate home game averages but can come with *'s. eg Bulldogs 2012 includes the full count of a double header at Suncorp (41,273) and a game in Mackay (11,876). I prefer the home ground average, 10 at Accor at an average of 22,972.

Yehp depends how you want to break it down, those are just the total stats.

That bulldogs 2012 year they got ~32k for those out of state games Vs Titans & Storm, probably not far off what they would have got in Sydney. That Roosters average last year included 40k+ for Vegas plus Central Coast for that matter.

Bulldogs are in a fairly unique position this year that all 12 home games will be in Sydney.

Bit of a concern that the suns draw 16k and titans 13k on the same day at a similar time slot on the GC. Especially since the titans were playing the dolphins.

Sure the suns game was a top of the table clash but still.
Last time I was on the GC about 8/9 years ago it was obvious that AFL was spending like 10 times as much on promotion than the NRL there. They had a way bigger presence. I imagine thats still how it is. Over time that would have made a difference.

Absolute stupidity by Ticketek or the Dogs or the NRL!
Literally 10 tickets available for all categories except GA! Open up all level 4!
