Then the NRL and all clubs needs to do this week in week out but I'm not an expert in marketing etc.I haven't seen anything from the NRL yet. I've seen ads from the Bulldogs (And promotions), I have seen a South Sydney ad on instagram and numerous ticketek ads also.
I think this game has sold itself so far... If we can get good traction from the media and all the above start to really pushing it who knows. I think the crowd on Bulldog and South supporters can hit 55,000-60,000! If the NRL/Bulldogs/Souths can sell this to neutrals as an event who knows what we can get.
You would think most would since they get free entry to their home groundAccor update - GA is now Limited Availability so only Blue Zone tickets remaining for the bottom bowl which will go now fairly quickly!
Will be interesting when they open Level 3 (Behind Blue Zone section) and IF more GA tickets will be made available on level 6 or will they try milk it with gold tickets (Hope not). We still have 4 days to go at this rate Level 6 West could be opened up!
This crowd all depends also on South Sydney Ticketed Members! 7 bays have been kept unsold on level 4 and 6 for them along with GA portion on the bottom bowl, if they don’t turn up massive empty seats will be seen! Hope they do!
Whatever dude. People just want to believe what they want.If it is for the government to tip more money in they will be arguing the people of WA have turned up to previous SOO and when normal competition games have been taken there while the lower crowd this time is because the public was pissed off with how expansion has played out. The NRL we all know just wants more money. If the WA government comes out today and says we will fund pathways for next 10 years at 10m pa and upgrade or build a new stadium they are in and yesterday's crowd number is irrelevant. It's all about thefor the NRL.

I noticed the Anzac game for NZ is in Christchurch - assume this is sold out too - though capacity is 17kThe next two Warriors games are sold out
Should’ve given Eden park a crack for that gameI noticed the Anzac game for NZ is in Christchurch - assume this is sold out too - though capacity is 17k
Might be in Christchurch for a specific reasonShould’ve given Eden park a crack for that game
Maybe it is better for the Tigers' corporates (Richo's main golden goose). I am guessing also some anxiety when the draw was done that both teams might have been struggling at this time based on when the draw was done - Spoonbowl and that. Although the 2014 Easter Monday game had 50,668, the last couple of Easter Monday games played at Homebush had 28,611 in 2023 and 29,056 in 2021. So it would be hard to expect over 30K based on recent history even at Homebush, especially when the draw was done. Why are the tigers playing at commbank on Easter and not Accor
Seems like that could’ve gotten at least an extra 10k next door
So if it was a sell out and the WA government don't tip in more money, would the NRL Commission admit a Perth team?Whatever dude. People just want to believe what they want.
According to you and a few others. Supply and demand aren't related...
Silly me for thinking a big crowd in Perth would indicate to the NRL that there's a market in Perth worth investing in...
Commbank is an amazing stadium but it seems like they are planning for failureMaybe it is better for the Tigers' corporates (Richo's main golden goose). The Wests Tigers deal is with VenuesNSW, both parties felt CommBank was the best venue for this year's fixture, though there is nothing stopping it being moved in the future to Accor, just like the Wests Tigers v Manly game later in the year being moved from CommBank to Allianz Stadium.Commbank is an amazing stadium but it seems like they are planning for failure
One day one or both could be good and it would get way more than commbank
I was at that 50k game atmosphere was so good
They don't just pick and choose random events to promote, they promote events that have actively partnered with them. Football Aus have partnered with Destination NSW as has the Easter Show.I just had a quick look at the Instagram feeds for Visit Sydney (1.3 million followers) and Visit NSW (630,000 followers)
- Multiple posts promoting the Royal Easter Show (fair)
- Multiple posts promoting the Matildas vs South Korea (which to be fair would have drawn a much bigger crowd if it was played at Accor)
- Could not see any posts promoting a regular season or event game for rugby league like Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day or King's Birthday.
Similarly, on the website for both Visit Sydney and Visit NSW, there is no mention of a regular season or event game for rugby league, except Women's State of Origin.
This is a silly take. They're literally in negotiations. 60k definitely tips the scales.
Doubt theres much benefit promoting a game featuring two Sydney clubs on a tourism websiteThey don't just pick and choose random events to promote, they promote events that have actively partnered with them. Football Aus have partnered with Destination NSW as has the Easter Show.
They'll likely promote Origins etc as they get closer and probably the Grand Final.
As for regular season games, if clubs or the NRL want to submit them to the event calendar on those websites they should. Don't think there's anything stopping them.
"Say what you want"As for the GC , say what you want. I was there .
Precisely. NRL promotion is often poor but this isn't a valid critique IMODoubt theres much benefit promoting a game featuring two Sydney clubs on a tourism website
