65k looks like a safer bet atm

If someone posts a pax update it was 49600 at around 1 pm yesterday

After that it looks like they’ve sold 1 to 2k more at least. 600 west barring members should all sell out the way it’s going
yeah i think unknown factor is how souths members wanna sit up on level 6 will determine if it will be mid to high 60s or 70k+, either way its gonna break H/A crowd record

i think you should get good 4-6k walk up from easter show

631 is down to two seats now, 622 is sold out, and there are only around 50 seats left in 621 so it looks like all the $10 tickets should be gone by tomorrow unless the club releases some more.

On the other side, bay 607 has 1 seat left, 608 is selling into row 38 (of 47), whilst 606 & 609 are selling into row 23 with only silver seats left in these bays. Still surprised how many expensive seats are moving in the east whilst there are still seats on the west, but won't complain.

I honestly don't see any world where this game doesn't exceed 60K now. There are just too many tickets allocated and honestly there are too many stakeholders wanting to announce a record NRL crowd.

Encouraging signs at Suncorp with both corner bays and multiple level 5 bays being put on sale by the Dolphins. Would be nice if they put on sale some cheap red seats.

My expectation is still 55k because sometimes these huge crowds don’t pan out like we expect. It could be that people that bought $10 tickets decide they have better plans that day instead, members not turning up, traffic issues etc. I think 55k is still fantastic so I’ll be happy with that - but won’t complain if we hit 70k ;)

Unbelievable that a regular season fixture has presales like this - especially considering that Sydney has a culture of walk-ups rather than pre-booking. We would be beside ourselves with excitement if this were a week 1-3 finals game.

This is the momentum that crowd building needs - take note MEDIA. They have the power to build the hype, and hopefully, there is no drama in the crowd that destroys this momentum (which they could have let happen after the Knights game).

I hope this game is one we all remember and it sets a standard that other clubs want for themselves. IE - reciprocal member rights, targeted ad campaigns, discounted tickets etc.

Guessing the below is where we are at:
Black - sold (608 not totally but surely there by the end of the night)
Green - available (either online or not)
Dark Blue - stadium members
Blue - GA overflow (??)
Red - Souths reciprocal members (??)

Braith on nrl360 saying 70k

I think it’s possible but still a way off it

If I had to guess I would say 65k now

Lol @ Braith.
I doubt it will reach 70 k. These big crowd estimates always fall short. It happens every time.
I'm guessing somewhere between 60 - 65 k, which is still pretty amazing.

Would you agree a fair estimate of unsold areas would look like:

Level 6 West - 12,000
Level 6 East - 7,500
Level 3 - 2,500

Total - 22,000 unsold

Capacity - 83,500

~ 61,500 Sold or allocated
-------------------------------------------------------
Forecast is for absolutely perfect conditions, bodes well for strong walk-ups.

I'd agree with those estimates!

600 west into the last two bays on edge which have significant sales

Lots of sales today up in the 600s

Once all the ten dollar tickets go shortly they should reclassify the 35 dollar? in 600 east and really fill it up

632

620

Probably 800 to 1k of the cheap tickets left

If we’ve sold or allocated 60k, could make an assumption that a 10k mix of members and $10 ticket holders might not show up - 50k. Plus add 5k walkups - 55k

My conservative take

I'd agree with you at any other week but Friday is now an event to be at and also nothing much else to do on Good Friday at 4pm.

I understand people managing expectations, but I think anything <60k is unrealistic now. It may have been an outcome if the $10 tickets weren’t made a thing.

- The media and the NRL are both pushing for 70k.
- The pax factor indicates 70k is in play.
- It’s only TfNSW travel guidance which remains at a 60k+ estimate (and it’s probably the most accurate).

I think we’ll land somewhere in the range of 65-70k, and any lack of stadium or club members will be countered by historically strong walk up demand due to the good weather, the Easter Show and the fact that this is now an event game in the minds of many.

Sydney is a city like no other. Tell the average Sydneysider you’re going to a regular season game and few would bat an eyelid. Tell the average Sydneysider you’re going to an event and they’ll think it’s the new Vivid.
