Two points here...

Yes, of course the Wahs swell the crowd as they do for any club when playing they are playing well.

Secondly the Phins have a core attending fan base of around 20k which is definitely at the higher end in the NRL. Broncos would have a core attending fan base of around 30k. Form and opponent determines how big each crowd gets from there.

So no, not entirely the pull of the Warriors, but it certainly helps

this is another strong argument for a second NZ team ASAP. I would escalate it to urgent.

On a (slightly) random note, is there a reason for the Sharks restricted capacity? Are they upgrading the stadium or is there something else going on?

On top of that, is this a temporary measure or is it permanent? If it is temporary when does normal business resume and what would be the final capacity?

Has been capped at varying levels since 2018/19 or so due to construction adjacent to the ground and as part of the Leagues Club redevelopment.

It's slightly more this year than last.

Should be resolved hopefully before peace in the middle east..maybe..

First home game for the Sharks in six weeks, fifth in the comp, playing the Storm on a Saturday night. Empty seats everywhere with a 12k capacity.

Send them to f**king Darwin or Tasmania, Cronulla doesn't deserve an NRL team.

And they’re peddling this as a grudge game too

Easily 60% of the crowd was Warriors supporters but good to see the Phins are constantly pulling 23-25k on a regular basis and will only grow as they become more established and successful
Warriors probably have the most away fans out of any nrl club

I’m sure the other clubs love how much money their fans bring through the gates for them

Hearing the warriors chant dominating at away grounds is awesome
