2025 Crowd Watch

You know the horses were basically a one team city for 30 something years right. No one compares Sydney crowds to Brisbane crowds expect insecure Brisbane supporters.
Don't disagree with any of that. Nothing to do with the point I made though.

The claim was made by some that the dogs could outdraw the Broncos. Clearly over the top and not going to happen, ever.

Rain stopped in Parramatta a couple of hours ago, and isn't expected to return today. Hopefully things dry out a bit. Eels v Sea Eagles has not sold much this week. Combination of rain, plus Moses being named in the Origin squad has not helped. Club did run a 25% off promo sometime this week, though only saw a line about it in an email I got from VenuesNSW last night.

I unfortunately feel we'll be looking more 12K-14K tonight, but hope to be wrong.

Bathurst has been down to GA only few a few days now. Hopefully will continue the trend of recent years and sell out just before kick off.

Still a lot of tickets to move at the Central Coast for Roosters v Sharks. Dark Green is 95%+ sold, Green is 75% - 94%, whilst light green is 50%-74% sold.

That's not at all true and we should never wish that not to be possible.
I love that the Broncos get good crowds and to a lesser extent the Dolphins but it's apples and oranges...

What if the Bulldogs were the only team in Sydney for the last 30 years, always successful with a half a dozen premierships .. had the best winter weather, the best stadium for Rugby league in the world located walking distance from central station...

This is literally the Broncos.. it's great! But let's not pretend that all the football gods in the known universe don't smile on them.

So I'll tell you how the Bulldogs average better than the Broncos:
Suncorp stadium gets redeveloped and games are moved to the gabba, the Broncos sit bottom of the table, weather in also unkind along with track work...
Bulldogs win a Premiership and play out of a brand new Accor stadium and benefit from weather being kind.
Broncos average 25k
Bulldogs average 35k

It's not a stretch but hopefully another 60k for the Dogs Eels in 2 weeks!

I want ALL crowds to increase!!!
This us vs them nonsense isn't helpful, let's all get to the games!

I've seen a few people say we should have an International period during Origin and I honestly like the idea. I'd rather see the Kiwis play than watch whatever last night was.
As a Brit I’d rather see origin replaced by the old 3 test trans-Tasman series or even better a full mid-season international window featuring the likes of PNG, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.

pax for kings birthday is now 27k

Nice one.

TfNSW has released its travel guidance for the King's Birthday game. They are planning for a crowd of 50,000 at this stage (see screenshow below).

Ahead of the Good Friday game this year, TfNSW's initial crowd figure estimate for transport event planning was 45,000. The final crowd ended up being 20,000 higher (65,305). So the King's Birthday game is trending very well at present (and will have three days of additional sales considering it's on a Monday).

As shown below, Level 4 East is already open for the King's Birthday game.

The main pushback from the broadcasters around Origin/Rep weekends was always around ratings, with Channel 9 complaining the most about losing two ratings time slots.

Considering that Women's Origin has now grown into a product that draws more than draws 900K+ (which is more than a standard NRL match), surely the concept can be discussed again?

Could literally be:
Friday: Women's Origin
Saturday: Internationals
Sunday: Men's Origin

What the internationals looks like is up for debate. I personally feel a Tri-Series between NZ, Tonga & Samoa would be a ratings winner. Biggest issue though is eligibility and getting the balance right so Origin & the Pacific national teams aren't too heavily hit.

Women's Origin game in Newcastle. Dark green is around the 95%+ sold. Green is 75% - 94% and yellow is 50% - 74%. Still a number of tickets being held back in the upper grandstands, especially in the wings and bays like 72 & 49.

Still enough time to get to sell out and trending for 20K+.

This merkin, who also wants to relocate clubs, doesn't speak for all of us.

Fella, you sound like you're new to the sport. Firstly welcome to the greatest game. Secondly stop with the stupid takes and educate yourself.

Round 14 Broncos vs Titans sales have surged - probably off the back of the black jersey for mental health (which we are wearing). The jersey has sold out everywhere and in a couple of hours.

Probably 2-3k tickets left, + what is held back and restricted view. Would be nice to snare some wins, but it's pretty much a guaranteed 40-44k.
