You wonder how big Manly would be if they had a bigger ground, what is 4 Pines capacity, like 18k?
They seems to be around 16-17k most years.

4 Pines Capacity appears to be 17.5k.

The numbers started ticking up towards the end of 2023. Since Maestrov took over again we appear to be at capacity, despite the team not being amazing or anything (Probably a fun watch for the casuals though).

25k would probably be sufficient. I've got a lot to say about the Penns that is not publishable but they've definitely employed people who have reconnected the football club with the area, something that I think it lost as the last golden generation kind of rode off acrimoniously into the sun. (If anyone sees Steve Matai tell him we miss him lol)

So we know that Doggies-Souths draws on Good Friday and Doggies-Parra draws on the King's Birthday. Are there any other tentpole fixtures to build the Sydney season around? Is there scope for further games at Homebush on the Easter weekend and make the most of the Royal Easter Show nextdoor?

Easter Monday back to Accor, Commbank is obviously a better stadium but it doesn’t take advantage of the Easter show and they’ll be shutting out 20k+ if Tigers & Eels come in with some form one year.

Should be an Accor game the weekend before Easter when the show is on too.

If Gadhu Gathering is a success expand it 4 games and include Dragons & Bears.

Sharks should be able to have at least 2 games per season at the new SFS that get more than 15,000
They should play home games against the warriors, roosters and souths at Allianz.

they’d probably crack 20k but it would all be down to opposition fans.

Agree, we should be trying to host as many games as possible at Accor Stadium when the show is on. The fact that there is already a large crowd in the area, including thousands of regional and interstate people who travel down for it, plus major event public transport in place should make it a no brainer.

The 2 sports are polar opposites in terms of the best way to watch.

AFL is infinitely better live, NRL is far better on TV.

and that’s reflected in crowd attendance and tv ratings across the 2 codes.
I went to an AFL game once in 2003 or something at the MCG, it was an absolute slog to get through, the game isn't entertaining at all IMO.

You can fumble / drop the ball / knock on without repercussion.

You can get awarded a free kick for a mark which you don't even have to take cleanly.

You get a point for missing your shot at goal.

Shitful game thats rules are setup to reward mediocrity.

Sales aren't the best ATM (Not knowing how GA is going) however Bulldog members do have reciprocal rights for this game so 20K should be guaranteed by both set of members alone... Maybe 25-30K crowd would be great.
It's one of our two highest drawing home crowds (along with the Roosters), and it's scheduled during the Origin period with players missing....

Did Tigers used to have a game there over the period but not this year due to no games at Accor?

I know it's a long way off but Dolphins v Raiders in the final round is set for Kayo. Do they have an option to change that, because if the Dolphins are a still in finals contention then that'd surely draw 30k at Suncorp.
Suncorp has no scheduled events between September 4 (Broncos v Storm) and November 12, so there shouldn't be any reason why the game couldn't be moved.

Roosters run home is pretty good and should see 4 20k+ crowds, the last 2 should be 30-40k. Fair chance at the 25k milestone, only the 4th club to do it (Broncos, Warriors ‘95 & Dolphins ‘23).

They’ll likely snatch the Sydney record as well, but like a runner who broke the old world record but finishes 2nd they will only hold it for one day until the Bulldogs game the next day.

If Roosters are in the hunt for a top 8 berth those last two home games should be massive.

With the Tigers, they have five home grounds this year. Matches in brackets. Leichhardt Oval (3) Campbelltown (4), Suncorp-Magic (1), Commbank (3) and Allianz (1).

Not easy to increase crowds. Tigers don't have one ground to go to every second week like Newcastle, Broncos, Cowboys, etc. No surprise that the Tigers have "won" the last three wooden spoons.

Definitely not ideal to add another home ground this year but I still think Easter Monday needs to be at Accor again and Tigers/Eels can plan around that.

Assuming Roosters continue to be in the hunt for the eight, it's fair to say the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs matches should comfortably get 38K+. Looking at the other games, it's realistic that the Roosters could draw a comparable crowd to what they got for the Storm on a Thursday night last year (17K), whilst I would imagine the Wests Tigers match would draw similar at 2pm on a Sunday (they got 14.8K last year on a wet Sunday night).

That leaves the Emergency Services Cup match against the Cowboys. At a minimum, the match should get 20K considering the effort the Roosters & NSW Government are putting into it. That would give a 26K average for the final five and put the club in reach of the 25K average.

Ideally the Bulldogs & Rabbitohs games push into the 40K zone and the Emergency Services Cup pushes more towards 25K.
