Final game is Tigers in round 26, Sat 3pm. 11,847 required to finish as 2nd best average. Top spot out of reach, needing 30.6 k.Canberra have now attracted 160,677 fans to 10 games at GIO Stadium in 2025 for an average of 16,068.
Previous highest averages for Raiders at the ground:
1994 - 17392
1995 - 15683
2023 - 15300
The ironing is delicious.Cmon Barr. Build a decent stadium
Nice attempted slur. MCG hosts all sorts of trash... err non-marquee games.I heard that interview. MCG also said they prioritise marquee events. SOO yes, but not 40k v Warriors.
RL is great at Marvel. Crowds were excellent there last season. 35k - 40k is a great atmosphere there.
Before afl magic round they didn’t leave the stadium empty for pitch maintenanceNice attempted slur. MCG hosts all sorts of trash... err non-marquee games.
Take a look at some of the Demons crowds v out of town teams - lol a few quite a bit lower than Storm v Warriors would draw that's for sure.
As soon as the Storm v Warriors is played consistently at a bigger ground it will grow and grow into one of the great RL marquee events.
This blokes an afl apologist mate.Nice attempted slur. MCG hosts all sorts of trash... err non-marquee games.

Making my first trek down to kogarah since 2015I’ll be standing on the Jubilee hill, rain hail or shine.
13k would be decent in this weather.
Not sure how many sharky fans will have the heart to attend?
They really are dreadful. At the beginning of the week it looked like 30k was possible, but they couldn't be bothered to open cheaper alternatives and they've probably cost themselves 5k.At Suncorp, there is very little left in the lower bowl. I'm surprised the Dolphins ticketing manager hasn't put more bays on Level 5 on sale
Slur? The MCG CEO was just explaining that, on top of their long standing contracts in place for cricket (about 12 days) and AFL (around 50) they have space for a certain number of marquee events such as concerts, SOO, Wallabies, NFL, etc, that all draw over 80k. He said a Storm game (which might draw 35k - 40k) does not fit that criteria and that they are not going to squeeze in a games that would make them very little profit when you factor in reconfiguring the playing field, etc. He was not comparing Storm crowds to the Demons, he was comparing them to the other marquee events.Nice attempted slur. Funny the surface never had to be maintained during the season prior to Reach Around being an event in the AFL.Slur? The MCG manages the playing surface and stadium workload very carefully. That was also part of the reason their CEO said they would not be squeezing in a Storm game. I know that Sydney and Brisbane are much rainier than Melbourne (now that is a slur), but even after heavy rain there is rarely a drop of surface water in the grass. The surface is unbelievable.
Storm v Warriors should start at Marvel which is much better for RL, and if/when they can crack 50k there, I am sure that the MCG would look at it.
In fairness to Jamberoo, that is basically the gist of what the MCG guy said.Slur? Demons games get 8k to 20kIn fairness to Jamberoo, that is basically the gist of what the MCG guy said.
I agree they should let the Storm play at least one game there (and during Gather Round would be perfect), but you know how AFL centric Melbourne is.l
Demons games get 8k to 20k
Storm warriors would get at least 40k
They’ve allowed the storm to play there before too
Obviously with the afl in Adelaide it’s a great opportunity for league to have a big event in Melbourne
Storm are going to need to take some of their bigger games away from aami the way their crowds keep growing
Yeah that's just sad.Jubilee looks about 11k
Possibly now the worst local derby in rugby league
