To maximise there chances of being as big or bigger than the Broncos at some point in the next 30 years and to not kick an own goal. Naming themselves Brisbane would be the best way to upset the Broncos and calling themselves Redcliffe would be the best way to simp to the Broncos. A good name would by the Redcliffe Simp-fins.
There are heaps of other great reasons that I will add shortly.
Basically, they should be what Atletico Madrid is to Real Madrid rather than what Getafe FC is to Real Madrid. I had to look Getafe FC up its a simpburb of Madrid.
Why does their traditional name not allow them to be bigger than the Broncos one day? Are people not from Redcliffe not allowed to buy a membership or enter Suncorp Stadium?

Why are the other clubs in many different sports I've listed successful in drawing large crowds despite carrying a traditional suburban name?

that is stupid they have had those names / identities for 40 plus years and they were established when the comp was just Sydney suburbs. 2 of them should relocate and change their name though.
Redcliffe have had their name since the 1940s and for quite a long time played in a first grade comp which is why they are such a famous, strong brand in Brisbane.... You know, the market they rely on for fans...

This whole Moreton Bay or Brisbane Dolphins thing seems incredibly important for some outside of Brisbane. Those here, understand who the Dolphins are and that history and tradition deserves to be respected.

If they are Brisbane's team then they should call themselves Brisbane and it will mean they get bigger support and crowds.

with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham they split London from the start. There was never 1 massive dominant London club called London FC. If there was and they had a 35 year head start then that club would probably be massive and A,C and T would not be anywhere near as big as they are now.
Similar to Manchester. If you tried to bring in a club called Wythenshawe FC they would really struggle to get to Manchester United of Man City Size. Same as Getafe FC in Madrid cannot get much traction compared to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

I'll happily bet my entire life savings that the Redcliffe Dolphins will never be bigger than the Brisbane Broncos lol. You're basically handicapping yourself for tradition. At the end of the day it depends what you value more, keeping tradition or future growth.

This is similar to how the Roosters went. They changed their name to the Sydney City Roosters in 1995 to appeal to a broader fan base and attract new sponsors. I think changing it to Moreton Bay or North Brisbane would be better for their future and you can and you can still call them Redcliffe like people do Easts for the Roosters.

The Dolphins were in a first grade Rugby League competition until 1996 just like Canterbury, Parramatta etc were since their inception and are an incredibly strong brand in Queensland sport because of it.
My fellow Qlders desperately need to get over the fact that it was the Sydney competition that became the National competition.

Samoa v Tonga - probably sitting around 29-30k pre-sold (reserved). Watch stadium member f**k this up... 35k possible.

Broncos have officially sold level 3 & 5 down to single seats for next year as full season memberships. The sideline is not affordable, so they will need to open level 7 south for full season ticketed memberships. They'd have sold about 32k full season ticketed memberships and we are mid October. Crazy stuff really.

Would be good to see if the broncos can basically sell out a whole season or even better have the stadium basically sold out with season ticket holders

Might help the dolphins if fans can’t get to games

Well we're a loooong way off topic, but it's the off-season so what the hell. The point you're replying to is that pre-1988, the BRL comp was the primary focus of Qld rugby league fans and media. Redcliffe, Wynnum, Valleys & all got way more local attention and devotion than any Sydney club. Hence the reality that the Redcliffe Dolphins are the established, ingrained, decades old brand. The anything-else Dolphins is a phony marketing ploy.

Hmm, was wondering that. Is the entire Eastern side of Level just members? Bays 518 - 525?

Are they also scattered in the middle of the sideline Bays as well?

For two weeks out, I’m feeling pretty bullish on the crowd for this one. Like, I think the crowds in NZ will underwhelm, but Brisbane looks like the may need to open Level 7 by next week?

The back 20 rows of 319-324 and the front 10 rows of 517 & 526 too.

Level 7 could be opened but I think they'll reduce the price of level 6 first. My preference would be for them to do that and then open level 7 east with a cheap category. Makes a nice crowd then.

I understood it. It’s irrelevant.
