South stand has just been opened up for NZ v Tonga at Eden Park. Bays 307 - 313 are pretty much sold out, so it's nice to seem them reclassify some of the corner bays as Bronze seats.

There are some big chunks of seats on the south side not on sale, not sure if they've already been allocated, or held back for other things, so have excluded them from the sales map. There's been some real momentum this week for the game, I know the NZRL is hoping for 40K, which I thought might be impossible, but there's plenty of time left till kick off.

.

The biggest difference is the Warriors are setup as an organisation to commercialise 11 games a year, they have full time staff focused on marketing, corporate hospitality, ticketing, social engagement, PR etc. The NZRL is not setup that way, they are more focused on development and participation growth, so at best might have 1-2 people internally wearing all those hats.
Well I wonder why the blazes then the NZRL just wouldn`t handover or even pay the Warriors people to sell these Tests. Sell an extra 20 000 tickets it`d surely have to pay for itself.
I imagine the Warriors would have a pretty good data base to tap into as well.

They are very protective of their home Tests, I mean they even limit how much the NRL can get involved. It's a shame, as the NRL or Warriors would have most likely sold the match out weeks ago.

There's been some movement, especially in the past 24hrs, though it will need to start accelerating for 20K+. Black represents the sold out areas of Mt Smart... I've assumed that corporate areas have already been filled by the NRL and NZRL (which generally is a pretty safe assumption).

There are random patches, especially on the second level of both grandstands which are currently marked as sold. Hopefully these have been allocated through other means and won't be released later. I'd say at the moment we're around the 12K mark.

Update for Mt Smart. Since reclassifying parts of the grandstand as bronze seats and expanding silver seats, it has helped generated some much needed movement in the corners. Still a lot more blue than we'd like, but at least it's moving.

Ticketek, in it's standard useless manner, is pushing anyone who selects best available into Bay 18U for Bronze, which is why that bay is almost gone in the South Stand.

At Suncorp - the remainder of level 5 has been put on sale, and a few bays on level 7 have opened.

I thought last year's crowd of 33k for Aus v Tonga would be a good target, but it looks like we'll end up smashing that. Most likely low 40,000s. Hopefully more if some stadium members show up.

Looks like 20k will get hit by kick off and the updates for Suncorp are looking amazing

Strange they haven't put the western stand on sale yet, as behind the post seats are selling the best. Maybe want to completely fill the TV arc before they open up the rest of the stadium?

If we stick with these games they could easily become event games for neutrals once people start to see them on Tv and see how amazing the atmosphere with the singing and flag waving etc the Islander fans bring.
Last year at the final the Tongan fans were singing hymns and it sounded amazing and they are so bloody friendly and just want to have a good time, unlike some other club games I`ve been to... woof, woof.

Mt Smart at 4pm AEDT today:

For comparison, this is it at 4pm yesterday

It's definitely filling up more, though will look strange on TV with the hodge-podge ways its been selling. I feel south stand will be pretty full come kick off based upon current momentum, west stand, outside of the two gold bay seats, is moving pretty well, it's just the east stand which needs some help prior to kick off, or it won't look great on TV.

Thanks

That big empty patch on the half way line sure stands out

Hopefully strong walk up gets those two stands full

Get a weird feeling it will be close to full before kick off

Haven’t seen much promotion for this game online
