I dont know why we struggle to get good crowds for Wembley, but the NFL get 80 odd thousand for their game is just plain nonsens. Ive watched several games of NFL, but there's no way in the world its as appealing as what RL is, not even close - ill give it 1/8 of sheer boredom or even much less

Yep, the same old conundrum. These people don't even know rugby league exists. It's all just rugby union to them, which no where near matches the spectacle that is modern rugby league. The trick is getting these eyes on our game and then the penny will drop.

One media report (I can't remember where I heard/read it) said that UK sources indicated, as of last weekend, that 55,000 tickets had been sold for the first test between England and Australia at Wembley.

I'm sure they do know league exists. Maybe they simply prefer union for whatever reason. Not everyone in the world that sees league will fall in love with it.

In the UK, rugby league is mainly concentrated around cities in the north of England. In London, where the head offices of most of its media companies are, football (aka soccer) and rugby union are the major sports. hence there tends to be a bit of a bias towards those two sports compared to rugby league.

I'd go even further than that and say union international crowds are significantly made up of people that have little interest in week in week out union. It's a weird phenomena.

It's the same with Cricket. That's because for both those sports, the international competition is essentially the sport.

Suncorp's sales don't seem to be slowing down with the corner bays on Level 7 now becoming available.

Only 13 of the 54 outdoor boxes put on sale as Elite seats remain. Two of the four Samoan supporter bays on Level 7 are now pretty much sold out and they've finally started releasing the last rows in Bay 604.

Game is going to look epic on TV with three levels of Tongan & Samoan supporters on both ends.

I'd like to know what is actually happening in Samoa and Tonga because I spoke to a Samoan who is only been in Australia for a year and he said it's all about League is Samoa now!

It's the same with Cricket. That's because for both those sports, the international competition is essentially the sport.

Soccer really is the only sport that seems to be popular at all levels.

I’d say it’s as much that as it is that those sports are viewed as having actual legitimate international competition. International rugby league is viewed as a Mickey Mouse sideshow with few actual competitive countries. That doesn’t make neutrals want to turn out.

Hopefully we can change that view in the coming years.
