If the Tonga vs Samoa matchup continues to gain momentum as time goes on, I'd really love to see what sort of crowd this fixture could draw at Accor Stadium (with proper promotion and decent ticket pricing), given the large supporter base both teams have across Greater Western Sydney. It has definitely outgrown the capacity of CommBank Stadium.
We'll get gauge on the final at combank in Parra but a big reason why this was such a good choice is because of the amount of Tongan and Samoans who moved up to Brisbane for work from Sydney.
A large chunk are in construction and they follow the work around.

Looking at the ticket website at what’s available would 5000 left be a good guess or too high

Looks like a few bays up the top in the corner aren’t on sale yet too

The Broncos are running sponsored ads to try and sell it out:

That is just brilliant. Works for them too I suppose, first-timers who love the experience might want to come back for other, namely Broncos` games. Smart thinking Broncos.

As a guess
21k week 1
45k+ week 2
38k week 3
30k final

AFL 0 and they get off on crowd numbers
So do alot of league posters here given there is a dedicated thread to league crowd numbers and regular updates of how games are selling.

AFL obviously doesn't have international games yet their overall crowd numbers are still significantly higher than league which has international games.

This is not a criticism of PVL but actually him being smart whenever he compares league to AFL. He is happy to tell everyone that tv ratings for league are higher compared to the AFL or that league crowds are increasing but never compares crowd numbers between the 2 codes as he knows he won't win that argument given the AFL average is roughly double.

We'd be sitting around 47-48k sold now.

Some areas of restricted view are on sale. I think they might be using 717 and 726 as 'refuge bays' - not suggesting that the crowd will misbehave but given the amount of flags etc they might keep these areas for neutrals or people with children to move to. Absolutely no reason for these to not be on sale yet.

He doesn`t compare the two because 1) with a 20 000 plus crowd average we kowtow to no one, and 2) we`re talking millions of difference between their broadcast viewing figures and ours, the crowd numbers are irrelevant and chicken-feed in the greater scheme of things.

Maybe you should follow his lead ?

He doesn't compare crowds because league comes second to AFL, not because we don't kowtow to anyone. He talks ratings up, which i said was smart on his behalf as league outrates AFL.

While matchday revenue is dwarfed by broadcast revenue, crowds aren't irrelevant otherwise people wouldn't be talking about getting bigger stadiums for a few extra thousand seats. Also if crowds aren't at games atmosphere is crap and comes through on the tv as well. Everything contributes and can't be viewed in isolation.

Assuming there’s 7k left to sell / unsold and 8k members wouldn’t it be 38k sold

Assuming 5k members show up crowd rn would be 42k
That's what I think he's trying to say, as in membership were sold and count as sold.
I think we'll get just over 40k but with big Tongans and Samoans all kitted out with their gear, it'll look roughly around 250k..

It's going to look unbelievable!

I can't imagine a more passionate crowd and it might not be the biggest crowd for a sporting event but it'll be the BEST crowd of all sporting events in Australia this year.
In track to be the best crowd ever!

As for numbers, it'll be the most security guards ever to have called in sick! Covid times included!
